Another guarenteed medal in the boxing.

I liiiiiiiiiike.

On the Medal's Table front, none of our 3 boxers are in the same categories as the 3 Russian boxers so hopefully some other country will help stop the Ruskies storming up the Table.

Russia will finish above us in the medal table.  FACT.

I think his legs might lock up.

I want to put £10 on any other athlete @ 14/1 with BlueSquare

Just looking around to see if there's more impressive prices anywhere.

Beacuse he doesnt 'need' to, if he had class to push him yes, but without any realistic competiton, no...

I laid on Betfair 1/18

Liked the look of laying him finishing in the top 3 at 1/50.
If it goes wrong, it'll have to go very wrong for him not to win it.

Figured that was just greedy though.

I agree, he is a joy to watch but he needs to stop pissing about, he could injure himself tommorow and never sprint again, he'd feel a proper twat if he didnt set his absoloute best world record time.

I think he'll be looking at pulling a Sergei Bubka - beat the record enough for the bonus, but never set the best you can do to continue to make the money.

Seriously though - watching the sport and chatting about it on the internet, do the BBC Live text updaters have the cushiest job in the world?

Easier than live poker updates, as they don't have to leave their seats...

Gillette Soccer Saturday pundits have the best job imo.

Doesn't look strong enough round the bend for the record. He will win and he will be quick but it's not like it's a record that has looked under threat looking at race times rather than performances Bolts best is 19.67 which is a huge gap from the 19.32 of MJ.

1. 19.32 +0.4 Michael Johnson  United States 1 August 1996 Atlanta
2. 19.62 −0.3 Tyson Gay  United States 24 June 2007 Indianapolis
3. 19.63 +0.4 Xavier Carter  United States 11 July 2006 Lausanne
4. 19.65 ±0.0 Wallace Spearmon  United States 28 September 2006 Daegu
5. 19.67 −0.5 Usain Bolt  Jamaica 13 July 2008 Athens
6. 19.68 +0.4 Frank Fredericks  Namibia 1 August 1996 Atlanta
7. 19.69 +0.9 Walter Dix  United States 26 May 2007 Gainesville
8. 19.72 +1.8 Pietro Mennea  Italy 12 September 1979 Mexico City
9. 19.73 −0.2 Michael Marsh  United States 5 August 1992 Barcelona
10. 19.75 +1.5 Carl Lewis  United States 19 June 1983 Indianapolis
+1.7 Joe DeLoach  United States 28 September 1988 Seoul

Would be incredible to break that record but getting 2nd in the list would not be a surprise.

Has an Olympic champion ever been such an underdog defending his title?
