Just jotting down a shortlist on here which i will keep updating.

1980

Cure - boys dont cry

An absolutely brilliant song, but unfortunately it was from 1979.

We are in agreement yet again young Claire!

That'd be 1983 then.

The 80's were just utter utter shite for music (charts i mean), but under the terms of this prop bet, you're lucky, as it's easy to pick out some gems, we can start with this..........

Simple Minds - waterfront was '83

Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills  1982
Motorhead - ace of spades 1980
Judas Priest - Breaking the Law  1980
Judas Priest - You've got another thing coming  1982
Adam and the Ants - Stand and Deliver 1982
Def Leppard - Photograph1982
Def leppard - Animal 1984
AC/DC - Who Made Who 1986
AC/DC - Heatseeker 1988

That'll do, I'm tired now........................

ok sigh

All's not lost as it depends on criteria you're using for selection on boys don't cry.

Original version was released in 1979 but was never a hit until they re-recorded and re-released it in 1986!

Also from your current list I'd say "this charming man" was 1983 rather than 84 and "kind of magic" was 86 rather than 85 .

I'd also say "never too much" would be much later than 1981 but that may have been remix or something too

Think Abracadabra was 1982

Great thread btw.....must think of some of my own choices now
