I watched Argo again on Sky box office last night, really is a 9+/10 for me. Does anyone have any suggestions for other films Affleck has directed?

The Town...pretty good

Agreed, good film

Gone Baby Gone was a good Affleck too

Actually if memory serves Gone Baby Gone's release was delayed because of its similarities to the Mcann disappearance ....

Hansel and Gretel

This is NOT a film. It should have been a US TV series where the same thing happened week after week, like The A Team or Chufty The Vampire Slayer.

Utter garbage.

Witch gets killed, cliche gets spouted, Gemma Arterton cleavage shot, witch gets killed, cliche, cleavage, etc etc.

Anyone that scored this more than 2/10 should hang their head in shame...

I saw Argo last night as well and, whilst it's a good, well made little film, after it had finished I realised that, after the initial 'fake film' plan was thought up, nothing really happened. Because it was based on a true story there was no real suspense, there was no good dialogue - it all felt a bit empty.

Because of the nature of the story, it's difficult to not make it tense in places, but it all just felt a bit faux peril and Hollywood must really like Affleck for this to have won Best Picture.

Henjel gwa Geuretel (Hansel & Gretel)

If you like Asian horror - this is a very unusual and unsettling dark fantasy tale, with beautifully lush styling.  It is not the traditional Hansel & Gretel story but borrows elements of it.

Good Day to Die Hard

Bruce Willis' latest romp as John McClane sees him travel to Moscow to see his son who's in trouble with the Russian authorities but things aren't quite what they seem.

Load of pap. Full of action all the way through but fails miserably to keep your attention. It's definitely not a Die Hard 1 or 2. Over the top car chase is about the best bit.
4/10

hi bobalike,
i was looking through the threads hoping to find someone slating this film thinking i cant be alone Smiley
i think even the 4/10 is generous.

i love died hard 1, even 2 is class but then it kinda loses its edge and ends up being this! Sad
by far the worst film ive seen in a good 6 months at cinema
ok i didnt expect to see a great film but wow epic fail
the whole idea was so predictable and bruce being some super hero with his son kinda miffed me off. die hard one they kinda made it believable, ok he escaped so sick situations but was this far gone

best part was saying yippekiyay mother...... i didnt hear the f word?? i mean thats the trademark Sad

that was closely followed by leaping out of the window with his son to the floor (happens to be a pool at the bottom) and sticking his middle finger up at helicopter as it crashes into building, didnt realize i was watching a comedy

anyways if you can avoid this film i would recommend it, even if your a die hard fan

Cloud Atlas

'The film explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future'

i watched this film, has anyone else seen it?

i must say a very difficult film to put together and get across to the audience to understand. I think you have to be open minded when watching this films. its very complex and at times i felt like i was watching some sort of bbc drama.
however... there were moments when i felt excited in not knowing the outcome, its nice to watch a film where you dont quite know whats going to happen, and as it picked up pace id sit up and show more interest in trying to piece things together

performances from halle berry, tom hanks were average
and kinda pointless parts played by hugh grant who in this film anyone could of done.

the most excited parts was being flung into the future and those scenes caught my eye the most

interesting to watch and be interesting to see what others think??

i give a rate of 7/10
