Films should not be like books.

Different medium, you can show us much more, represent things in a completely different way. Chunks should be left out, and maybe other bits added in a decent adaptation imo.
Haven't seen the new Harry Potter film or read the relevant book, this is just me making a point in principle.

Saw Scorsese's Age of Innocence yesterday. It was exactly like the book (not a bad book, read it last week) and the acting was decent (Winona Ryder, Daniel-Day Lewis) but it was still a shit film.
The reason was that the adaptation was so lazy. A 3rd person narrator just reading chunks of text lifted straight from the book all the time. Tilted me up good and proper. If I want a book I'll fooking read one.

Watched Adventureland the other night.

It was tipped to be better than Superbad....it wasn't but then it wasn't the same type of film.

Superbad was a teen comedy (What i like to call 'Will farrell humour')
Adventureland was more of a movie centered around young romance, with some comedy (Not 'Will Farrell humour') thrown in.

Adventureland was still a good movie, and still had some funny bits in it, The main charactor is a pretty 'Cool' Geek too. Kristen Stewart is becoming a real woman now too!

This film is a rip off of those 80's Molly Ringwold films, quite a good rip off I agree.

Best good "bad" film I have seen this week is Big Stan.

Watched 7 Pounds. Was alright but nothing special. I think it's they hype that ruins these films i thought it'd be the best film i saw this year. It wasn't the best film i've seen this week.

The Hurt Locker - and there it is, winner of the most over hyped film of the year...Empire gave it 5/5, pretty dull and boring imo, seen it all before in Platoon etc etc...
