Sky Movies were doing a review of the Jighs and Lows of 2009, and this was classed as a Low:

LOW: TRANSFORMERS 2 MAKING SO MUCH MONEY
There was a lot of class this year in cinema.

From Let The Right One In to Slumdog Millionaire, any number of movies deserved to take the top spot in the charts.

But by the end, one of the biggest movies of the year, and all time, was the universally derided Transformers 2, the film that was the cinematic equivalent of standing drunk in a scrapyard while the army fired live rounds at you. Only not as exciting.

Rarely has a film been so unpopular, yet made so much money.

WTF, and we watching the same movie here, are Sky Movie Idiots!!!............ Trans 2 was F***ing Class!

Avatar = bobbins.

Cameron seems to think he's making the next Lord of the Rings but doesn't realise he's made the next 2012 - great special effects but no characters, no plot, no dialogue. Actually, scrap that; at least 2012 had a sense of its own ridiculousness, whereas Avatar is so po-faced it hurts.

South Park was right - Avatar =  Dances With Smurfs.

Went to the set of Deathly Hallows at the 007 stage at Pinewood last month and all I can say is wow. The sizes of the action scene sets are outrageous. I'm no fan of the Potter films but I dont think the die hards will be disappointed with the scenery!

Anyone see Johnathan Ross review of 2009 films last week.

Being the end of year show, I was hoping to see a viewer vote for  best film ,

but all we got were celebs asked what film they liked in 2009, with no comment of, quality, script or Special Effects

They edited it so that every film got a mention and they showed only about 10 seconds of a few  trailers .

Near the end of the program they said "Oh and here's Harry Potter that was the winner "

So it made to most money, but it was NOT the best film IMO.

So here's Crow's Film of the Year List, add your own

Best Special Effects     goes to    2012

Best Sci Fi                  goes to   District  9

Best Girly film              goes to Twilight and New Moon

Best Blockbuster         not sure

Up was the best film of 2009 for me. The people at Pixar are just so ludicrously talented.

District 9 film of the year...Say "no" to the haters!  Cheesy

Its a fine line with opinions, because I thought The Dark Knight was one of the most overrated boring blockbusters ever, nearly as bad as the Pirates sequels!
