Book Of Eli - suprisingly good...

Spooky,I was coming onto this thread to say same thing apart from the suprisingly bit,I expect any Denzellll film to be good,7/10.

Had read a lot of bad reviews, and looked like a Mad Max rip off, but has some original stuff in there, and some great action scenes, aswell as a twist I didnt fully get until reading comments after, deffo worth another viewing to see the difference...

Will be watching this tonight. Didn't know what to expect but looking forward to it now.

Agree with Manda though definitely. Don't think I've ever seen a bad Denzel film.

Knight And Day = awesome
Went in expecting nothing, but huge summer holiday crowd at the local Cineworld and this is just superb.
Both leads top class, esp Cameron Diaz, who's never been anything but quality in everything she's appeared in imo.
Normally can't be doing with action flicks but can't knock the chasey stuff in this one and it's also tongue in cheek without being OTT or knowing. A few LOL moments. Straight in my top ten for 2010.

Tomorrow could be a trip to see M.Night Shyamalan's new one. As much as I loved his early stuff, I so want this to be bad.

Wow, I thought it was shocking, I would of left if i wasn't with a group of friends. Tom Cruise just played Tom Cruise, (which isn't bad if you like him).  Cameron Diaz was non-existent in the film apart from a 5 mins stint near the end where she shows what perfect comedy timing she has.

Knight and day = All very dull and predictable.

Each to there own of course.

Anyone seen Surrogates with Bruce Willis?

Only really half watched it but thought it was quite enjoyable.

Was it straight to DVD? Cant remember hearing about it last year?

Yeah, but they're changing the format to a presenter+expert one (aping Mayo+Kermode on the radio). The other person is a Guardian film critic.

Am I the only person who thought Inception was utterly boring?

It's a pretty bad movie. I can see how some peops like it for the eyecandy, but it just does not achieve what it set out to do, it's a muddled mess.

So I believe. But it's Claudia Wankleman! Sigh.

Hated it so much, turned it off after 40 mins, something I never ever do during a film usually!

SALT

Very engaging film, a Bourne trilogy type spy thriller. Angelina Jolie, in my opinion, is box office in everything she does. Simply superb. The film itself has plot twists that you can see from miles off and the script is ludicrous in places. However for a fast paced action film, top marks.

WOW at making a comparison between Salt and Bourne trilogy,I thought the film was very mediocre at best, typical CIA type action film with nothing new added in anyway 5/10 from me.
