Just come back from Pirates 4, 3D, with the kids. Decent, but fairly predictable. Depp good, as usual. Cruz ok. Rush excellent. Lovejoy scary. 6.5/10. Missed Knightley.

Watched Hall pass last night , quality IMO

Pretty much ideal type of comedy for me to watch whilst having a moroccan woodbine.

Farrelly Bros- It is just a bit behind the all time classic Dumb&Dumber but really good work .

Saw Black Swan last night, really enjoyed it, both as a piece of cinema and also because you get to see Mila Kunis play the kazoo on Natalie Portmans popo. Very good, 7.5/10.

Also saw the premiere (get me) of the new Morgan Spurlock documentary about product placement. Greatest Movie Ever Sold. Very interesting and funny, not as funny or thought provoking or funny as Supersize Me, but good nonetheless. Not out in the UK till September 7/10

Just watched the Fighter, superb, Bale was amazing in it. The fight scenes are probably the best boxing scenes I've seen in film. 8.5/10

Life in a Day - Directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland) and produced by Ridley Scott, so some hard hitters putting this out. Noticed it had scored 100% on rotten tomatoes which is very rare so wanted to check it out. They use 80,000 youtube submissions to show what people all around the world get up to on a single day, namely July 24th 2010. The best way to describe it? Reminded me of those links to fascinating and diverse worldly photos that sometimes appear in Tikay's diary. Abs cinema gold imo. No megastars or big budgets and quite an unusual concept but recommend it highly. An intriguing snapshot of people doing their daily thing, entertaining and thought provoking.

Watched the Lincoln Lawyer yesterday. Thought it was about a lawyer who lived out of his Lincoln. [ ] it was... Anyhows once i realised he wasn't all of a sudden going to turn into a tramp and start living out of his car turned out to be a pretty decent film. Can't say too much about the plot as there are a lot of twists and turns, fair few of which are telegraphed. But i still enjoyed it. 6.7/10

I must say I was a bit meh about the thought of this film, the second half of the last series was quite weak.

But fuck it, this looks very good. Oh going on holiday with the lads when you are 18, thems were the days.
