The reason I ask is not because of his cards, but the fact I was in the SB meant I felt I would have to re-raise to compensate for position and I'd rather scare him off than make a small raise and have few chips left if I don't hit a card post flop.

Well at least you were not slow playing Aces like the blonde tourny against me Smiley

short stacked in the SB with AKs - Apart from folding to his raise (which I can't see you doing as the short stack) there was not a lot wrong with it. Unless you knew his raise was AA or KK are you really going to fold?

Thanks, I know it seemed like there was nothing I could do, but it's better to have someone else confirm it sometimes. And as for slowplaying aces, well I've completely changed my strategy. Limp from middle position and they never see it coming Wink It's worked wonders in the 10k recently, since everyone seems to limp UTG now I try and play them differently everytime.

as I have departed the blonde tourney twice to slow aces and also left the titan game via the same method I'm coming around to it. I'd still raise late round the table with em but early limping is the order of the day. gotta let them go if 6 people see the flop mind!
how much was it for? $5?! and would that change your decision? - Answer nope

I won't slowplay them early in a tournament unless I know the table is very aggressive, but later on when the BB is worth more, it's usually more worthwhile to limp, in fact, I'm starting to prefer limping after a couple of other have limped too, because, one of the BSB trio can never resist a steal. But I think playing them that way is similar to a squeeze play, you really need to know the conditions of the table well before making any attempt. (As I type this, my AA has just been cracked by KK).
