Tbh no i did not , I wouldn't really see it as a standard bearer for a good player though, When liverpool were struggling to qualify out of their group last season , i genuinely would have rathered they finished bottom of the group than have to face the indignity of playing in the UEFA cup . I mean cmon what sort of cup does not know the fav until the CL rejects enter it , and the league system they have now is a farce also. I'm sure arshavin is decent, but when he has been tracked by Barca, Madrid, chelski, and arsenal apparently , it seems somewhat bizarre if he ends up at spurs dont u think ?

Lol ok wasn't really going to get into arguement about the standard of the UEFA cup, but Arshavin was very much the star for Zenit St Petersberg in the final and rounds leading up to it. So ppl were aware of his talent pre Euros.

I would rather spend £16million on Darren Bent then £20million on Robbie Keane, or even £10million on Robbie Keane.

lol @ Arshavin in the Euro's... One fantastic performance against Holland, suspended for the first 2 games, average against Sweden and nowhere to be seen against Spain...
Decent player but the Euro reaction to him was OTT to laughable proportions...

I'd rather spend £30 million on Keane than £10 million on Bent!

If Keane and Bent play the same amount of games Bent will score alot more then Keane. I have seen both play a fair amount live and don't believe Keane is a natural goalscorer like Bent. Want a token 5 quid bet? on goals per games for the season as long as they both player over 20 games?
