Whats the best play in this situation please? Just call and play to hit a set, or stick in a big raise to thin the field??

Doggo12: posts small blind $0.25
Nemeaneios: posts big blind $0.50
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [td ]
Pinderup90: calls $0.50
Hero: raises $2 to $2.50
doe-z88: raises $2 to $4.50
ajs350: calls $4.50
Doggo12: calls $4.25
Nemeaneios: calls $4
Pinderup90: folds
Hero: Huh?

The initial players 3bet size is bizarre, and I didn't give it any real credit, but is it a mistake to raise again here??

There is $21 in the pot and seems ashame to leave it to someone else??

Thanks

Stack sizes are essential here to give any form of sensible answer

I disagree the button is commited to calling a jam given his stack size.

I'm not great at cash but I think the standard line here is insta pass, depending on stack sizes

plenty of implied value calling to flop a 7 to 1 shot should be well rewarded

If you're insisting on playing this the same as a pair of 2's then yes you have the right implied odds to call given that there are five players in the pot.

However, seeing as you've got a good hand why not re raise him. About half a pot raise should do nicely, say $10 more. It's all he deserves for his gay min raise he's just made. Chances are they'll all fold but hopefully you get a customer and can do your hand justice.
