Allow me to divert your eyes momentarily towards this shocking development. According to the provisional player list, the recipient of yesterday's Womblecam, Stephen Walmsley, has been scheduled to play today too! Has he demanded a spot on day 1b so he can showcase another nine levels of folding??

Will Billy the Kid be employing the "Stop Ngo" today?

Womble update. He's not in the casino today, but we believe he is still in Bolton. He's probably folding something, but it might only be his bedsheets.

Over the last few hours, there have been some shocking updates regarding Womble. Apparently, there are two of them! The chap pictured below in the turquoise shirt is also called Stephen Walmsley, yet he looks nothing like Stephen Walsmley. Although we initially suspected an inpsoter had breached the GUKPT ranks in order to steal the limelight from the real Stephen Walmsley, our best detectives have been on the case and confirmed that he is indeed called Stephen Walmsley. Whether he can fold as well as the original Womble, only time will tell...

Eager to find out if today's Stephen Walmsley was as skilled as Womble in the art of folding, I decided to observe the action from the rail for a round.

As Stephen folded hand after hand, I quickly began to realise that Womble 2 wasn't a visitor from a parallel universe, or the anti-Womble that Jonathan Raab had suggested, but more an echo, or homage of the tight, rocky, scared-to-throw-in-an-ante Womble that we've all come to love.

Of course, this was only a small sample, but the real question was... Is Womble 2 tighter than Womble 1? Is it truly possible? I decided to wait until Womble 2 was on the big blind before even attempting to make such an assumption.

As the action folded round to Marty Wilson, the Mad one made a standard preflop raise. I held my breath as play reached Womble 2. He paused momentarily, looked down at his chips... is he going to make a move?!?! And then folded...

Jonathan Raab has confirmed that if both Stephen Walmsleys make it through to day two, he will conduct a video interview with the two players.

For those hoping for a Stephen Walmsley squared interview tomorrow, or, dare I say it, a Walmsley/Walmsley heads up (gulp), the dream is sadly over. After witnessing three players limp before him, Stephen decided to push from the big blind for 3,600 with . Hesitant at first, initial limper Andreas Mihail weighed up his options before opting for the call with . After the remaining two players had side-stepped out of the way, the board came an uneventful to send Stephen home. I guess some Stephen Walmsleys know when to fold, and others don't.

Our hopes and dreams now lie solely on the shoulders of the original Stephen Walmsley, Sir Womble.

I was sat next to the imposter Stephen Walmsley (before my dreadful exit) and can confirm that in fact he did play several hands.  Grin

Although short-stacked, and followed by millions... and millions of viewers back home, our plucky hero has yet to arrive. Naturally, he would have just folded his way through the first level anyhow, but we can't help but remain concerned about his current whereabouts. Maybe he's still folding his jim-jams, or perhaps he passed the bus stop by mistake, but either way, he needs to get himself down here, and pronto.

When will he arrive? A nation holds it's breath...
