Dear customer,
We will shortly be making changes to our terms and conditions that will come into effect 22nd September 2008. From this date we will be introducing a new charging mechanism (Premium Charge) that will affect a small number of our most successful customers.
We are writing to inform you that had the new charges been in place over the last 6 months then you would, at some point, have been required to pay Premium Charges. If your betting in the future continues to be as successful as it has been in the past then you could be required to pay Premium Charges in line with others who, like you, fall into the top 0.5% of our customers.
T & C states
Separately Betfair may levy a premium charge on your account should the amount of commission (together with any other Fees described in these Terms and Conditions) generated in respect of your account be less than a specified percentage of profits you have made over a given period of time. Again we will use reasonable endeavours to inform you if your activity incurs a premium charge.
I have read this several times now to and to be honest it would be laughable if it wasnt going to cost me money in the future....this part is just unreal......If your betting in the future continues to be as successful
If they want more cash from me I will be walking.
I am very good customer of Betfair with a decent monlthy rake and regular sports betting. this sort of greed makes me sick.

First of all........shameless brag post.
Second of all, that is pretty disgusting. Basically saying ' he can afford it, lets get some money off him'. I could understand it more if your monthly turnover was big, but just because you are a winner is awful. I'd get this posted on all the big betting forums and see if BF respond.
Shame Betdaq are not anywhere near BF just yet. Id open another account for sportsbetting (you are allowed ten) and see if it still applies, if not get a mate to place the bets.
What sport you winning on? Got any tips?

Wow! How would they even begin to justify this? Additional exposure because of the big bucks?

The way this is phrased you would think I was up mega bucks.
total sports betting profit for the year is less than 10 grand and that is primarily due to a few good results in golf betting. (Graeme Mcdowel + Ross Fisher both came in for me)
It is just the audacity and cheek of the statement...If your betting in the future continues to be as successful...I just cant get out of my head.
Its like a letter the headmaster has sent home for your mum + Dad
Unreal
And yes I will be posting this on other forums

they make enough by not risking anything anyway! why try and run customers away by trying to go over the top and make more. Surely the most sensible (and most profitable) punters will try and find somewhere else to earn.
