I can see this as being a must read if I want to improve my poker thinking, but I'm afraid of the cranial damage it'll cause.

So in between pokey stuff, some of the best things about Red's diary is the stuff about him, and his history.  And tikay loves talking about trains, obviously.

So more about Flushy the man, and where he came from, please. Kiddy memories etc.  Obv you were a pilot.  Was that something that just 'happened' or was it a long term dream ? Etc etc.

And ffs no trains, or I'm off.

This is likely to be very interesting and i will read it.

Thoughts on the state of online poker in (a) 1 year, (b) 5 years and (c) 20 years. Regarding the games getting harder, winrates etc.

You will have to excuse me letting out a sigh at yet another diary from one of blondes best posters.

This is a tough one, poker online is getting harder people are playing pretty smart these days, even the bad players.

If it continued in this way then i can see the game getting very tough to beat for large ROI's, thankfully though i believe there is a chance of a reprieve of the US law (not as sure about that as i should be seeing as it affects my income) also hopefully and explosion of asian players will really help the game, my worry though is that they will still learn pretty damn fast and will be 4 betting me to death in the near future!

If it all gets to hard i will just have to play live instead, the standard live is just as bad as it was when i first started playing!

I do wonder though what it will be like in 20 years, will it still be so big then? I wonder if this fad has a shelf life?

Do you ever have down time where you just chill or is it all gogogogogogo?

Yeah i do take a lot of time away from poker (much to the mockery of Moorman) as i don't see the point of making decent money and having a free lifestyle if i am just going to play poker 5, 6 or 7 days a week! Some weeks i don't play at all, if anyone asks me to go do something instead of playing poker then i usually jump at the chance. Tomorrow for example a group of players from the Rendezvous cardroom and the cardroom staff have organised a go-karting trip so we will be doing that tomorrow afternoon followed by lots of drinking it should be a fun day Cheesy

Look forward to the read...do you miss the Tribeca days, there was just something good about that software!

Yeah Tribeca is always going to be my home (although the first site i played on was Crypto) i do miss the comps on there i felt i was the daddy on there and would play with sick confidence every time i was on there. Jamie at blue square managed to get the sounds from Tribeca added to the blue square skin of iPoker which was pretty funny the first time i heard them!

I still have this funny pic from tribeca on my PC at the time this was the 'big sunday tournament' funny how poker has moved on since then. Blatant chip lead brag post though obv...

Great idea flushy.

I'd like to know how you got involved in poker. Initial deposit etc and how you built it up.

Oh and who would you say is better? You or JP? And why?

good luck with the diary, i'm sure it will be a hit if you keep it updated.

This is something i am very proud of, and the fact i am a winner came about mostly out of luck.

I was one of the LNP generation, my brother father and myself always played card games and upon watching LNP we started playing holdem. We got more and more into it the three of us as did a friend of mine, Andy (it was he who found us Tribeca!) we would play home games all the time. My Father was a top notch Bridge player and his 'partner' was a very good friend of his, Monty is his name and they would spend a lot of time at each others houses one day when Monty's son was down the topic of poker came about and it turns out him and his girlfriend were semi-regulars in the Vic!

Naturally now the home game developed and i still remember one game where i moved in on Adam and he was thinking i piped up "what are you thinking about?" his reply "trying to work out if i have the odds to call" i actually laughed, i was confused surely you just put your chips in there isn't much thinking to this game!

About two weeks later i was in the states doing some flying i was out there for 6 weeks doing 'hour building' (i will talk about flying at some point) anyway there i was bored as hell and my brother told me was playing holdem online, i was very surprised, he somehow managed to win a few quid and booked himself on a flight to Florida to join me for my last 2 weeks.

When we returned i got straight onto this online poker lark, this was Feb 2003, i played for a bit i would put £30 in it would last me a few days then i would reboost for £30, after about 2 weeks i managed to ship the WillHill's Royal Flush bonus for £300 which was massive for me then and it kept me going for a bit, at the same time as all of this we were still playing poker at home and Adam was coming around a fair bit, one time he gave me a book, which i quickly chucked into a corner somewhere, how vital that book may have been....

The next month i started my 6 month "Airline Transportation Pilots Licence" training just around the corner from Tightend at Cranfield Uni. For the first week i was there i had no access to the uni and everyone else in my lectures commuted, i had the major poker bug but nothing i could do about it...until i remembered that book. It was titled "Winning low limit holdem" by the now famous Lee Jones, it told me that J7 was not a good hand etc and i learnt to play tight which was all you needed to do back in those days and it was the reason that Feb 2003 was my only losing month until Feb 2007!

Me or JP, ha you trying to make things difficult! I will answer that but not now as its 5-25 and i need to sort out tonight's schedule!

Same goes to all the other questions, i will answer them soon.
