Live cash £100 NL holdem hand
«

Game is £1/£1 NL Hold em 6 handed-everyone has between £80 and £130(which is what I have) Villain(approx) is very Lag but not a total donk- he does like his marginals and suited connectors a bit too much though and will call reraises with such hands- villain is UTG but has straddled so £4 in pot its checked round to me on button:
I look down at
and I make it £12 so its folded back to him and he calls to make pot £24- board comes out
- he checks to me, I put in £22, he snap raises all in- do I call???
I think my preflop raise was probably too much and should have thought more about pot control but the game could be quite donkish with players calling off quite high raises with allsorts of hands and I though Villain would come along no matter what he had- thats why I found the decision quite hard!

imo call.
After straddle he only has to put $8 into $18 pot. Easy call for wide range of hands but if he had bigger pair hes re raising.
With his image he could easily be re raising with lots of hands you're beating like TT, 99 or 88, nut flush draw or even complete bluffs. Only likely hand beating you are 77, 66 or 22, 76 or made flush, and even then you may have up to 11 outs with 2 cards to come.
Your getting somewhere near 2-1 (depending on exact prehand holdings). Easy call imo.

I call this all day and feel pretty good about it if he's got the made flush or a set then bad luck I'd imagine your ahead of his overall range which could be anything given he straddled and have outs against small made flushes and sets.

Definite call here...he surely doesn't have made flush or an overpair. Expect him to have outs though...

His instashove makes this an easy call. If he had a made hand he wouldnt scare you off so quickly.

Nah I studied him for ages and folded and been kicking myself for it as I know it was probably wrong- I let my gut rule my head!!! I usually never show but I folded face up to see his reaction- he just said good fold but mucked his hand, then went on to say a few hands later when the others at the table were discussing it that he had the flush but i'm not sure- and even if he did I'm still not sure in the long run whether its correct as he has such a wide range.

If you were wrong so what. The fact you are prepared to lay down shows you think about the outcome. Many people would just call without a thought. When you think you've made a bad lay down don't let it effect you next time.We have all made bad lay downs.I remember trapping somebody in a tourney and putting him on tilt.3 hands later.I lay-ed down aces face up on a paired board. He showed q high. The point is :-That one hand has made me make many better decisions since then.Like you when thinking about it after i knew i should of called.Mine was 10 times worse than yours but its only one hand and its made me a better player.Well i think it has.)

If this is in the wabash I reckon you're up against 76 or 2 raggy clubs, ust because the donks in that game always ping ping ping against big pairs. In this specific game Id have raised more pre flop
