Here's an interview from                              Neeko

Hey , your an early member of blonde

April 17, 2005, 08:23:49 AM I joined - that seems a long time ago

Got any stories I can print from the old days

My earliest recollection of being on Blonde was reading a mini update from the 2005 WSOP, where El Blondie was in the final of a PLO event. I was playing a mtt on Crypto which I won, and was my biggest win to that date.

Which sites do you play on                      Stars, FT, DTD & Blonde  (but not much recently )

Do you play live at pubs, clubs or Casinos             Only BB's, APAT's & at DTD.

Had any big wins this year                                   Whats a win?

Do you play every day                                         2-3 times a week online

Where did you go on holiday this year

Belize and Guatemala, visiting their ancient Mayan ruins and then SCUBA diving off the coast.

How many miles a week do you drive                  200 ish

Do you prefer on line or Live                           online

Who's your favorite Poker Pro                    DN, Ziggy & Gus

Ever played a Poker Pro, like Aces or Devilfish

Played a 6 card PLO8 STT at BB4 with Aces, he thought my opening hand selection was creative.

Whats your favorite restaurant,French, Happy Hippo ,Italian, spud u like, or Chinese                      Chinese

Does your wife/partner play poker                   No

Can I print this on the Blonde web site               Yes

So why are you called Neeko ?

My name is Nick - and Neeko was a name that someone at work gave me, it has a link to me but is not a name that most people who know me would associate with me, thus keeping my poker identity from "me".

Thanks  ,  for answering

So why are you called                                  Wormster

Hi Crow,

Since about 1990 I've been known as "Worm" not the most flattering of nicknames but someone called me at work & it has stuck (I'm glad to say that the nickname is nothing to do with the size of anything!).

Over the years, Worm has turned into Wormy & Wormster, as a sort of a term of endearment.

There are plenty of people that have known me for years yet don't know my real name. Even a good friend's 5yo daughter calls me "Uncle Wormy".

Great answer Mr. Wormy, nice one

Ok So as your here,  can you  answer a few questions           Wormster

Can you tell any stories about early blonde days

I'm more of a reader than a poster on blonde. I joined in 2005 after I had met Tikay & Rhowena when Poker 425 started broadcasting.  Blonde was good for  keeping an eye on what was going on in the world of Poker & the Live Updates were a great way for me to keep abreast of the latest tournament news.

How long have you been playing poker ?                  About 4 years

Which sites do you play on           I don't really play much online - to be honest, I don't entirely trust online gaming.

Do you play live at pubs, clubs or Casinos

I don't get much chance to play & there aren't many tournaments that suit my pocket (below £100) without being self dealt.
Vegas is the most likely place for me to play

Had any big wins this year.                 Not really. I scooped €500 in a multi on betdaq a few weeks ago

Do you play every day                                 No

Where did you go on holiday this year

Kefalonia (with the ex-gf) and Vegas (with a couple of mates)

How many miles a week do you drive                 That depends on where I'm working, could be anything between 200 & 1000 miles

Do you prefer on line or Live  Live but it has to be with dealers & the right company.
Some UK poker rooms are like going into betting shops with all the petty squabbling

Who's your favorite Poker Pro                           Julian Thew - a great player & a true gent/

Ever played a Poker Pro, like Aces or Devilfish

After filming the William Hill Awards at the Aviation club in Paris, we had a €100 sit n go. The line-up was, in seat order, Marc Goodwin, Mickey Wernick, Dave Compton, Surindar Sunar, David Hood, David's girlfriend, John Gale, me, Julian Thew & Dave Colclough. I came 3rd after Surindar got lucky on me. Mickey won it

Whats your favorite restaurant,French, Italian, Chinese Or Red Indian              Chinese

Does your wife/partner play poker             I'm young, free & single!

Can I print this on the Blonde web site                 Yes

Thanks great answers gold Star

Had a very good chat with                       Woodsey

I've done some of them questions for you, feel free to put them on Blonde.

How long have you been playing poker?

Probably about 7 or 8 years now I guess. However, I did randomly end up playing a game about 3 or 4 years before that at the old Tiberius Casino in Blackpool. I was in there having a cheeky punt with my mum and saw they had a £20 rebuy starting, I had no clue even what the game was let alone what to do. The one memory that sticks in my head to this day was Burnley John being very friendly and helping me out as a newbie. The only reason I remember is because he is a really distinctive looking bloke, I doubt even now he knows who I am though.

Which sites do you play on?

All the usual suspects really, although as the game is getting tougher I am starting to play more on softer sites. Blonde is probably the top of that list at the moment.

Do you play live at pubs, clubs or Casinos?

Yes, I play at Dusk Till Dawn mostly as I’m lucky to be less than 10 minutes away from it. Other than that I occasionally play the circuit events all around the UK and try to make it to vegas at least once a year.

Had any big wins this year?

Funnily enough I had a great night a few weeks back. This had been until that point my first losing year since starting to play poker, on this particular night I fired up 4 tourneys including a $10 blonde event. Several hours later I was deep in all 4 with good chips and ended up deliberately donking off my chips in the Blonde event so I could concentrate on the others. I think I ended up with two 2nds and a ninth and ended up winning about $18k, that got me even for the year LOL!

Where did you go on holiday this year?

I went to Zambia earlier in the year on safari. I’m a real hardcore safari addict and have been on a safari every year for the last 11 or 12 years maybe. I love going to remote destinations with no-one else around apart from the small group I’m with, and just living in the African bush with nothing for 50 miles apart from the wildlife. As far as I’m concerned the more basic it is the better! I’ve also been offered a job out there next year by the safari company I stayed with on this last trip. I would love to go and work with them as they do these trips the way it should be done as far as I’m concerned, close up and full on! If I get my personal stuff sorted out by early next year I’ll definitely take them up on the offer but I’d say its 50/50 at this stage.

Also Vegas next week baby!

How many miles a week do you drive?

I drive about 1000 miles a week on average. I work as an account manager for a pharmaceutical company and visit hospitals all over the midlands, so am generally in the car for a couple of hours each day.

Do you prefer on line or Live?                         Just depends what mood I’m in really.

Who's your favorite Poker Pro?

I’m not sure he’s a pro but I enjoy watching Sam Farha when he’s on High Stakes Poker or whatever else.

Ever played a Poker Pro, like Aces or Devilfish?

I’ve played virtually all the UK names, as I play on the circuit on a semi-regular basis. I’ve also played against many of the US pro’s on my many trips over there including Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Brian Townsend, Allen Cunningham, TJ Cloutier and Many others.

Chris Moneymaker sat next to me in a tournament in the Bahamas a couple of years ago and I have to say he was the nicest bloke ever, which surprised me, I don’t know why. He was extremely friendly, engaging and courteous to the whole table and when he left we all thought he was an excellent ambassador for poker stars. He gets a hard time with people calling him a donk etc, but he left a positive impression with all of us.

I also had a comedy evening on my last trip to vegas, I ended up being sat next to Sam Grizzle in a cash game and he came across as a true degen in every sense of the word. However, with that he is also one of the funniest people I have ever played poker with and he had the table pissing themselves all night with some of the stories he told. Everyone who knows me will know I'm partial to the odd glass of Rose wine or two, Sam Grizzle saw what I was ordering and thought get me one of those too, 6 Hours later we were a total mess LOL.

Hey you have played with the best of the best  TOP GUN

In the nest tonight is                                        WarDonkey

How long have you been playing poker ?

My first game of poker was on the back of the bus traveling to an inter-casino football tournament in Brum, it would have been in 1995 give or take a year or two. I won £115 which in those days was about a weeks wage. I didn't have much knowledge of the game beyond the hand rankings, but I had decent 'card sense' and I've always enjoyed playing competitive games of all sorts.

I played in a regular, crazy and profitable home-game in Auckland for a couple of years. I really caught the bug when I started playing on-line in 2002.

How long on Blonde ?                          Since September, 2005.

Which sites do you play on        I have accounts on most sites. I'm playing mostly on Party at the moment. I'm still in mourning for the Tribeca network.

Do you play live at pubs, clubs or Casinos?        I play occasionally at casinos, I tend to view these outings as social occaisons rather take them too seriously.

Had any big wins yet?       Nothing colossal, but I've won my share of mid and low stake tourneys online.

Do you play every day?                                I have the odd day off...

Where did you go on holiday this year?

I haven't had a 'proper' holiday this year but I've had lots of breaks in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Devon and London. I'll be going skiing at some point in the coming winter.

How many miles a week do you drive?                   I don't drive.

Do you prefer on line or Live?                    Live for fun, online for the dough.

Who's your favorite Poker Pro?                 I don't really do favorites...

Ever played a Poker Pro, like Aces or Devilfish?      I've played with many of the big names.

Whats your favorite restaurant, Chinese, Indian , french, Thai?                   All of the above and more besides.

Does your wife/partner play poker                          No, she is refreshingly clueless and incomprehensibly understanding.

Can I print this on the web site                             If you don't then I'll have wasted 15 minutes.

Thanks good answers , all correct 10/10                 Oh by the way            why are you called Wardonkey?

Many moons ago just as e-mail was starting to become fashionable it seemed imperative to have a funky personal e-mail address rather than a boring functional one. I'd been called a warhorse by some at school in reference to my efforts on the sportsfield, as my style promoted effort over skill. There were many Warhorses already and my rather than be 'Warhorse44' my witty companion suggested 'Wardonkey', it stuck.

I'm still in mourning for the Tribeca network.

You would have liked Tribeca Crow. The main lobby had a busy chat room where people made friends.

It would announce who just won tournaments, (including STTs $50 and above)

Whenever I would win one, I'd swing past the chat box to say "wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" and the people chatting at that time would say well done etc.

Nowadays when I win a tourney there's nowhere to wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Sad

Tonight we start with the Head of SkyPoker        MR....        DesD

Can you answer a few Questions Des

Will do my best, although there is not too much to say about my game

How often do you play poker, had any luck lately

I do not get to play often these days, and am more likely to play a few hands with my nine year old at bed time, as opposed to online or in a casino.       I've made a lot of friends through poker, so I consider myself lucky generally.

Is there a Mrs D, does she play

Mrs D exists and has only ever played the game once, in an online play money sit 'n' go.  Despite doing well in the game, she didn't catch the bug and poker to her inevitably means another weekend where I am away, so we don't discuss it too much.

How many miles a week do you drive

Very little, I take trains to and from my work.  I enjoy driving though and whenever I can, I drive to APAT events.  I drove from my home in Surrey to Edinburgh on the morning of our last Scottish event and find the car a great place to catch up with some thinking.  Going across the Scottish borders in the early morning, with low lying fog everywhere, was a real joy and quite a contrast to the normal hustle and bustle of working in London.

Did you start as a cameraman , you seem at easy with the Lens

With technology these days it is very easy to look as if you know what you are doing, while being relatively clueless.  A friend, who is a professional in the industry, commented on the sort of video content that APAT puts out as: "amateur for amateurs", which I think is on the money.  As long as our players continue to enjoy seeing themselves on the site, we'll continue to invest time in photography and video.

Do you play in any clubs,  or at home ?

As above, I haven't really got out to play  much over the last couple of years.  That said, I've probably been to all of the leading casinos across the UK and there are some fantastic cardrooms out there today.

Thanks for answering

- Glad to oblige.
