Brushing off the dust from my Miss Marple hat, I managed to grab a sneak peak of the final table of the Team Event and see that with just two players remaining, it was this man who had the lead. For those of you who frequent these shores, you'll recognise this cool cat as the Nottingham terminator himself, DTD's own Terath Kandola. He has such an impressive wall of chips going into heads-up that even the Great Wall of China would look small if it relocated to Legoland.

It's official, the DTD Pro Team are the victors of the DTD Team Challenge. "Rigged!" I hear you cry. But bungs aside, Terath Kandola was the last man standing (well, sitting) and is being presented the trophy as we speak.

n a board, 'Reggie' John Perrin leads out for 600, before folding to a raise of 2,200 total from Simran Mahon. Those extra chips mean that Mahon now has just under the 15,000 mark.

As I waded my way through the playing area, I was stopped in my tracks by a disgruntled James Roberts. For those of you who are live update connoisseurs (they're a rare bunch), you may recognise James as being a fellow updater for our friends at awop. Today, however, James has swapped the camera for the cards in an attempt to get his dirty mitts on that 12k first prize. "What, no updates on me?" he moaned. "People are watching." Well, just to prove that we meet demands, here's a James Roberts update for you, complete with cheesy grin photo...

James currently has his head above water with 13,000. Those 3,000 came from pocket kings, betting every street before taking it down on the river.

There was howling on one table as a board was dealt out, and reluctantly digging up my wolf instincts, I perked my ears aloft before racing over to see what all the fuss was about. Although I missed the showdown by a mere whisker, John Sadler was on call to fill me in on the gruesome details. "The short-stack [Kevin Pearce] was all in on the button with A-T against the small blind's [Tony Bedford] A-K," he retold. "The board came A-T-4-K-T."

Pearce was desperately short-stacked at the time, so still only has around 1,800, and likewise, Bedford takes just a minor hit, his stack slipping a tad to 8,000.

Bit of a dispute regarding betting procedures on table Colclough.

Not too sure of the whole affair, it seems Dave was all in AK v AK,  but somehow incorrect betting took place in which the dealer was at fault a wrong bet occoured

then around 2k in chips went missing somewhere along the way.

Dave is still in, but obviously not improved his stack a great deal with that last hand. Maybe we can get the full story at the break.

99 players remain.

It's been a while since Linton departed, but I have garnered the details of his swan song. Down to just a couple of thousand after his unfortunate clash with Ali Mallu, Linton raised it up and was called in one place by John Sadler who had 8-9 suited. Sadler flopped a flush, but slowplayed his hand until the turn where all the chips went in. Linton threw his cards into the muck, so was clearly drawing dead, and swiftly made his exit.

Ali Mallu is now sitting on a stack of 28k after hitting quad 7's.

"Smoke 'em if you've got 'em," as a colleague of mine would say. It's break time, to the tune of 10 minutes.
