So I've had a catastrophe of gargantuan proportions!

iPod appears to have had a bit of a strop overnight, and my fantastically large and strange collection has disappeared from the menu - even when I connect it to iTunes.

I have it set to use as a storage device, and upon deliving into it's innards via my pc, the music is still there, but it's not showing up from the ipod itself, and iTunes refuses to believe there is music on it.

I am uploading all the tunes back into itunes, but is there an easy way of getting the pod to see al the stuff I have on there already without uploading it from the iTunes library?

I was all set to have a singalong to Rocky Horror this afternoon as well!

Any help from ubergeeks received and a drink in Jan is on offer to the hero who can help me out Smiley

Silently yours,

Heid
xx

Heid,

I'm not great with computers etc but i think it is not uncommon for this sort of thing to happen with Ipods.

try this link http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/tutorial/ip_gettingstarted_t16.html

Gap don't make stuff in my size<g>.

I have my ipod mainly cause my commute to and from work is really long (around an hour and a half each way), this really is a bit of a disaster for me, as my headphones keep my ears really warm in the winter as well!

I haven't ever been called a trendy - that's a first Smiley

Oh and Ta Silo, I will have a gander over there!

no worries.  there is some useful software you can get from there too, stuff to download from your ipod (Itunes will only let you get stuff back if it recognises it as being from there in the first place) and other useful bits if you wish.

There is also a master reset that you can do, cant remember what the combination of buttons is but it basically reboots the iPod-  could need that doing but you may lose the songs on there, Im not sure.

iPods are great Smiley and LOL @ Robert Cheesy
