Ms Peters said fellow convicts must also have known of his plan but that they would not talk because of a "code of honour" and because it is a criminal offence in Germany to help somebody escape from jail.

Don't tell me it's legal to help him escape in other countries?? What a ridiculous thing to say!

In Mexico it is not against the law to escape/attempt to escape from jail, if you are recaptured you will not be charged and jail time will not be added. You are incarcerated against your will and it is human nature to seek to overcome this, according to their philosophy of law. However, the escape becomes illegal if other inmates or staff are used to aid the escape.

I believe Richard McNair, in this video, also used a mailtruck to escape, just by hiding under mailbags.

I think that's the same in Denmark.

How did you get out Rod?

Was going to get angry - but couldn't contain the laughter. Nice one Andrew.

LOL if it takes a few months of an hour a day piecing them together, it would still be worth it.

I'm assuming £20 notes, so that's 500 notes.

Largest piece it says it's an inch square. A note is about 6 inches x 3 inches so that's 18 pieces per note or 9,000 pieces if they're all as big as the biggest piece.

They probably won't be though, I'd estimate closer to 20,000 pieces.

So the jigsaw putter togetherer would be getting about 50p per piece.
Good luck to him. Might take more than a couple of months imo.

He could put some together himself, and then pay minimum wage to some students to help him piece the rest together.
