If you're not going to raise the flop (which I can see why you don't hoping to hit the nuts and such) you surely have to bet the turn when it's checked to you...

You've played this super weak and now you're in a pickle. However, I can't see him checking a monster when no-one showed interest on the turn, so I think you have to call...

i cant see why you waited to the river to bet
the river is is a horrid card and personally as played to the river i would of just checked

but my money would of been in on flop or turn

ideally 20 preflop 60-80 on flop (depending on how many called the 20) and all in on turn

Reraise every street basically.

One of the reasons AK is profitable as a prefliop hand is because you fold also make people fold, so give yourself a chance to do that.

This is a dream flop and you get action off so many hands you crush and stand a decent chance against sets, which is rare anyway. Plus there are so many turn cards that kill your action, especially when you make the nuts.

I'm a very poor player

So poor that I actually listen to tikay when he talks about strategy.

I'm sure he once said that he tries to get as much money in the middle as possible, when he thinks he's in front.

So raise preflop to $20-$25 for me.  Then if robertkn comes along with 22, KT, or even 66, he's happily getting all my money.

On the flop, I either raise up 3x bet or stick in a 3/4 pot to pot sized bet if I'm opening.

As played, you've been trapping, so you have to call, don't you ?

hate the whole hand. pf is iffy, flop is bad, turn is awful and river is just a horrible situation caused by the weak play on the previous streets. you have to be getting money in so much earlier, as much as possible on the flop ideally but then you know this already.

what are your thoughts on why you played the hand like this snoops? you're a much better player than the hero in this hand

I dont hate flatting pre but i deffo raise the flop or turn at least. As Dave Shoelace said u should prolly reraise every street. I think the river is a fold tbh, you are dead

Yeah when I said reraise every steet I didnt actually mean the river, because obv if you reraise every street before it you would be all in by or before the turn anyway (unless u were minreraising)

Preflop: The dude was UTG, and reasonably tight, but I fancied taking a flop with a disguised hand thinking I could extract some good value on an ace high flop. I don't mind calling with A-K pf tbh, I think it's important to mix it up.

Flop: Thought my hand was too good to win on the flop, so fancied slow-playing it. Not sure why, the turn is perfect for another bet.

Turn: For some reason became convinced that somone had a better hand.

River: Pretty sure I was ahead and nobody had anything, so thought I'd value bet a figure that a marginal hand could call.
