Why do discussions over optimal play of a certain hand always degenerate into these sort of things? The variables per any given situation are vast and, well, if we played optimally every hand I suspect it'd become a rather bland game after a time.

I've seen a few myself made by both of those involved in the current mini-feud if I am allowed to make myself judge for the moment. Case in point, Sicilian wants to get staked for the GUKPT and being a part time player the £1k buyin is a considerable jump. He made a profit for his stakers in the APAT Pro-Am recently so you can get a piece of him, or don't. I can't afford to, nor is it morally right for me to do it (I believe) but I think it's fair that he doesn't have this on his staking thread. The results speak for themselves, so fill your boots or silently abstain. It's not Fergus or AdamG here.

Not a case of cant afford rather a case money i use for my ' hobby ' poker doesnt cover £1000 buyins... the fact i still ( despite my ex wife) could buy and sell you twice over has nothing to do with it.

Err so you can't afford to crossbook then that is exactly my point.

Starts on Wednesday in France, i am thinking of going but it is dependant on selling shares.

Imagine the GPT but even weaker given its all French players!

The buyin is €8500 i am looking to sell 10% shares for €1350, so just under 1.6 which is pretty generous given the standard.

I would need this all locked up by the weekend in order to sort travel and accom.

Cheers!

Seriously, if you think you are well above 2 v the field, why not keep all your action ?

Because 8500€ is a lot of money

if you cross book the loser has to give the winner the difference between the amounts you get

so if you bust out and he wins your basically fcked

crossbooking 10% means if he wins 10k and you win 1k you have to give him 900

basically in bigger tournys you need a huge bankroll to crossbook and i doubt flushy could afford to a 100% crossbook in a gukpt
