come on all these replies and still no pianist, someone out there must have talented fingers lol

I play a bit, but 'talented' is probably taking it too far... And it's mainly classical stuff - keep meaning to find myself a jazz piano teacher to teach me how to really play, rather than just reading notes off a sheet, which is pretty much what i do now.

Hands up if you saw the title of this thread and assumed Turny was stirring with a questioning mods desicion to ban people post with lousy spelling.

come on tank as if id do a thing like that! Wink i've never questioned the good work of our "mods" ever  Grin

any accomplished pianists out there?

[  ] ITB belongs in the diplomatic corps.
[  ] ITB realises snipes at people who've stood up for him are a really stupid thing to do.
[  ] "Mods" deserve the shit they take from people who they've done their best for.

[ ] good to see rod has not lost his sense of humour
[ x ] ITB has not sniped at anyone or given shit
[ x ] if i have please prove it

The use of the smileys isn't a 'nudge nudge wink wink' acknowledement that this thread was in fact you stirring it?

I'll admit you got the flack for others who have been stirring it, sniping, moaning & in some cases lying outright about bans. For that I appologise - but it's amazing how much stirring about bans comes from people who've been banned and are back - which is a real kick in the teeth.

I thought this wasn't a thread about words that sound like other words?

what gave you that idea?

Well if you're actually serious a good friend of mine is an accomplished pianist, he won the National Jazz Piano Competition and got a recording contract and a £16k piano for his troubles.

the use of a smiley was an acknowledgement that that statement "ive never questioned the work of the mods ever" was total bollocks as you all know i have. fuck all to do with the thread title.

this thread was not meant as a stir and i have explained things in my pm to you rod.

the title was a bit of fun but the thread was genuine .

during my ban i never once done any of the things you quote above or any of the things that tikay keeps reminding us that most banned members do.

i was having a bit of fun.... im sorry if thats seen as stirring

Look, I've said you got flack for others and appologised for that.

But "come on tank as if id do a thing like that! Wink"  & "this thread was not meant as a stir " - aye right.

There's no major fallout, but it is agravating having questions about banned blondes constantly on the boards - we DON'T want to ban people & it's very disappointing to end up having to do so. It's even worse when the speculation starts up about bans & people seem to find it easier to assume malice on the Mods' part. I'm NOT saying you do this, just explaining why I got annoyed by the thread title & your response to Tank.

As far as instruments go - I've been known to play the fool.

hence the wink smiley

"this thread was not meant as a stir "

I think you and ITB just define the world stir differently is all. He means he didn't maliciously intend to cause any actual trouble. He perhaps misdjudged the waters, it's evidently "too soon" for that kind of joke.

i think we will agree to disagree rod regards the stirring intentions or lack of them for that matter.

i was given my ban (and rightly so) done my time and even had some taken off for good behavoir. i hold no grudges im not that type of guy, i deserved my ban and i took my ban.

it was all meant as a tongue in cheek joke, it wasn't meant to stir it was meant to amuse, apologies to those it hasn't.

do you play the piano rod?Huh?

Used to play the Flute. I still have it although VERY rusty.

I've always wanted to play Sax though - best instrument IMO

Did you take it to band camp with you?

One time ...

Drum kit for me. Got an electric drum kit in my flat but still makes a racket - had a woman up complaining a couple of weeks ago. Not the easiest instrument to practice in a city centre. Incidentally if anyone wants drum kit lessons in Glasgow let me know - could do with making a bit of cash.

How does it make a racket? Is it the vibration going through the floor from the bass pedal?

What Electric kit you got?

Yea the bass pedal is what's causing the problems. Apparently her light fittings were swinging from the ceiling...

Just a Roland TD-3, does the job. Hope to buy a new brain for it once i have some cash though. Got a TAMA Rockstar back home at my parent's house which is what i learnt on.
