http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7672987.stm

Basically its the story of the last remaining survivor of the Titanic disaster, a 96 year old Lady from Wiltshire ... she is auctioning a few bits and pieces of her memoriabilia to pay for her nursing care ... what a disgrace, I hope some multi with a shred of decency gets in touch and says, "Keep your memories Mrs Dean, and dont worry about money, its all taken care of"

96 years old and having to worry about money, its just plain wrong.

Surely never knowing him though, its more the event itself she has memeories of than her father?

Is the right answer!

Is this an isolated incident, or just the tip of the iceberg...

Well considering she was 9 months old at the time of the disaster, one would assume that they were kept for her and passed down to her by her Mother.

I had a sinking feeling this thread would deteriorate into a pun-fest ...---...
