Wanted to recommend NOD32 as the best anti virus software with malware protection.

Yes, I had a similar, but more serious problem.




I did also have Norton AntiVirus and hated it. I've since used AVG and had no problems at all. Can't understand why anyone would pay for AntiVirus.

avast is good, i runs quickly, its free. i've used it for over a year and never had any problems, also use spybot search and destroy for spyware which is free.

Perhaps that is because AVG is for Antivirus protection, and Spyware Doctor is for... spyware?

Not really the same thing, and Spyware Doctor won't do the job of an antivirus program (unless it's seriously changed since the last time I looked) If you haven't got an AV program running - get one!

I've heard it's the best of the free ones.  Better than AVG apparently (although I've never had a problem with that in the past). I use NOD32 now.

I had problems which Norton didn't seem capable of fixing, so I found and downloaded this for free and it sorted everything out in half an hour. No problems since.
