I believe they have applied for licenses in Birmingham and Bournemouth also. Not quite the same as DTD, DTD has a casino license (pre 2005 act), I believe (I may be wrong) that they are trialling a poker only license.

Their logo reminded me of gala's for some reason!

Looks like they'll be charging a membership fee - might be tough for them to be successful doing that!

Yes and no, they have gone through the correct channels AFAIK and so have encountered a lot of red tape. This isn't the latest "let's pull the wool over the GC eyes and have a gaming permit and use pool, chess and fishing etc to cover up poker" . DTD was one of the last pre 2005 act and I think that the Fox Club is the equivalent that complies with the latest act.

cant imagine that getting a central london location and kitting it out will be very good for the overheads. Also it says it will be open at the start of next year, but no details of exact location or building progress ?

curious.

interesting that the domain name was registered to "betting and gaming services ltd", which companies house reliably tells us was dissolved in april 2008 without ever having submitted accounts.

a search for fox poker doesnt return any matching companies.

edit : "betting and gaming services ltd" was registered at 45 clarges street (just off picadilly). which just so happens to be next door to the fox private members club. I can only assume they have bought the place next door and that will be the clubs location.
anyone around that area of mayfair ? would be interested to see what is going on.

There's been talk of the Fox Poker club for years - I'll believe it when I see it open.

from what ive heard they are opening in feb 09, they had probs with the property that was going to be used, they have been given permission for a full casino stylee licence by the westminster council / gb.

so it will be 100% legal, also they will be sourching management positions in Dec 08 and the word on the grapevine is that a extremly nice and capable fat guy in a suit may be filling one of the offered spots if all goes to plan.
