the fact that in 2008, someone on a sportd tv show has to point out that he is the first black english manager. what does it matter? Gullit was never referred to as the first black dutch manager etc etc

yes but he wasn't the first black manager of any nationality as that was jean tigana

lolz, no, not phrased like that in the same way that today's headlines aren't 'black man hamilton is world champ'

however 'mondatoo becomes first white 100m wr holder in 120 years' would be fine

Black pioneers are celebrated as heroes. Twas ever thus. It's so not racist to describe someone as being the first black to do a certain thing.
To describe Lewis Hamilton as being the first black F1 champ is a celebration, and if anyone doesn't read it as such then they're probably the racist, and and they want to project their own bigotry (which they can't admit to themselves because it offends their liberal sensibilities) onto other people.

They only difference is saying hamilton is a man which i don't think anyone can have a problem with

I don't find describing him as black f1 driver instead of just f1 driver is neccesarily racist just why mention it at all is the issue for me ?

actually, we've done this one before haven't we. I remember now, the first black british prem league manager was actually chris hughton so all the ince stuff was bollocks
