yeah guys i understand why on the whole it's different but used this specific hand as an example because it's a split and could easliy go......check, check, instead of one person trying to scoop the lot so although the overal poker analogy isnt that comparitivly pertinent i think maybe a hand like this lends itself more to the idea of the goldenballs concept for people that are maybe uncomfortable as claire was with taking the lot when it could felicitously be a chop(although i get thet you dont like the speech play prior to the decision)

the other thing with the poker hand is that if you take it down you don't have to show Cheesy

lol, dont worry you're not gonna appear on the crimewatch hall of fame as a "goldenball taker".........

"our next case features a woman who pretends to be genuine and honest and says she's gonna split the money like most hard working Britons and not them bloody immigrants but when it came to it Claire m decided to steal the lot leaving her poor victim with nothing, if you see this woman in the street please do not approach her as she's also pretty handy with a deck oh cards, call the authorities immediately" Cheesy

sigh - I know!  it just isn't in my nature and I'd feel bad about it.  That's about the size of it, and is why I'd be rubbish on golden balls!

I would definitly have a pop at the poker hand and probably even show it if he folds

PS It's her whip you want to worry about not when she's got cards

Sounds a lot like the "prisoner's dilemma" from game theory.

Lots of math and logic guff.

Dunno if it's the same show but I remember watching one where someone did exactly what I said - and got the lot & promised on the tv to share. Not sure it was the same show though - think there's been a couple of these.

it was on this show he persuaded the other guy to split telling him he was going to steal if he split he would give him half afterwards jasper told him that the show could not gtd anything discussed at this stage, the guy who said he was going to steal actually split causing shockwaves round the studio as everyone thought he was going to steal and they got to share a small amount of dosh
