And they're off!  Pre introductions about six people were helping the players remove their fairly impressive chipstacks from their plastic wrappers.  Stu Rutter was fairly overwhelmed:

First hand, Surinder raises to 28k and a total lack of interest from everyone else means that he takes the blinds and antes.

Early Rutter-on-Pab action -- Pab raises to around 30k but passes when Stuart makes it 90k to go.

Tony Cascarino pushes all in!

But everyone passes and it's just blinds and antes for him. He shows A-Q.

It folds around to Jeff Duvall, who makes it 30k, and Eirik Svanes is the lone caller.

Our first flop of the day, and it's Two Diamonds

Check, check.

Our first turn: Two Clubs

Jeff bets out 40k and Svanes calls.

Our first river:

Both players check, and Duvall shows a king to take the pot.

Blind on Blind.... Pab vs. Sunar...

After a few raisey-passey hands, it folds to Paul Foltyn on the small blind.  His only possible opponent is bb Surinder Sunar, and he promptly raises enough to set him all in.  With under 90k behind, Surinder goes into the tank.  He counts down his chips, neatens them up.  Then he does something people only usually do when they're about to push the lot in - put one stack on top of a base of four.  Indeed he goes for it; Pab shrugs - our first all in!

Surinder:
Pab:

Flop:    Immediate set for the all-in player
Turn and river:    and Surinder starts off well.

Pab raises to 27k from the cutoff and a disbelieving Richard Ashby pushes all in from the big blind. An insta-call later and they're on their backs, Ashby in some trouble.

Ashby:
Pab:

Board: Two Clubs

Thus we are down to eight as Richard Ashby busts out in 9th place, winning £13,800.

Sigh such a slowroll, Pab should have atc here.
