You've seen at least one.
In Heat, for example, Al Pacino plays a cop and De Niro plays a villain. Each actor plays one character, the character is only seen to be in one form. But in some films, different actors are playing the same person (I don't mean at different times in their life) because the story calls for it. In the two I know, the different actors interact with each other, even though they are the same person.

Tom Hanks has only done one sequel. What were the 2 films?

Is this Toy Story and Toy Story 2?
