While I appreciate the humour, Kinboshi, the question was posed because I am simply clueless as to how to transfer the information over. Given that google cannot distinguish between the variables involved in my particular circumstance, I judged that it was perhaps best to ask humans who, by sheer coincidence, may have had to undergo a similar process and therefore get an answer more suited to me.
The information on that drive is very important and I want to make sure I can get it across to the new HDD as soon as possible. While I am sure that google can answer every question ever asked, I was merely hoping to encounter someone that has been through the same process and can assist in a more personal way.
The Laptop was a Toshiba Equium. Having unscrewed the laptop and removed the HDD, I need to purchase a "usb caddy" and this will enable my new laptop to access the information on the old HDD. Correct so far?
I guess you didn't appreciate the humour then.
It was actually the answer you were looking for as well, wasn't it?
