You can't beat a gig with a proper band.

Not a massive fan of The Specials myself, but I can see why people are.  I'm off to see New Model Army next week at the Astoria, and I'm like a child on xmas eve!

Where do you get your tickets? I was on Ticketmaster today but the pages freeze for ages for the popular acts. Got Blur tickets only after much trying.

In my experience Ticketmaster struggles in times of high demand.  If that bloody circle tells you +5 minutes open another window.

See are a nightmare and have a habbit of double charging etc, but have a huge call centre staff and the phone is sometimes the best option.  With See get signed upto the weekly mail list as the links sent out the day before sales skips you about 3 pages and will take you direct to links for the gig you want.

For things like Glasto/Reading/Stadium tours try as many options as poss, including more then one internet connection, Dial up seems to work on Glasto days for some reason.

Try try again I guess.

I got my recent ones from See.  Sometimes you have no other choice than ticketmaster though.

Specials cancel tonight's gig

Terry Hall forced to rest by doctors

The Specials have postponed tonight's (May 6) show at the London O2 Academy Brixton after frontman Terry Hall fell victim to a throat infection.

The singer has been told to rest and the show has been rescheduled for May 16, with original tickets valid for the new date.

In a statement the band said they were optimistic that all the remaining dates of their UK tour would continue as planned.
With the rescheduled date included, the recently-reformed ska legends are set to play at the O2 Brixton Academy on May 7, 8, 11, 12 and 16.

Well it went ahead last night and a superb concert. Glad they had a few slower songs in the middle for a rest as apart from that it was manic.
One odd thing was to see the number of Rudeboys getting out their blackberries and iPhones duirng the concert, didn't seem right somehow.  Cheesy
