Vegas hotel recommendations pls

Morning all
I have been out to vegas twice, once on a stag do and stayed at the Sahara (LoL) and once with the missus and stayed at the Bellagio. Couldnt really get much further apart on the scale really!
I am looking to go back next summer for the wsop whether I qualify or not and am just waiting for the dates to be released before pressing the button to book flights.
I am looking for good hotel recommendations if poss. I would love to stay at the Bellagio again and have got a poker rate confirmed by email from them of $209 per night and $289 (Fri/Sat), which isnt bad but with the dollar rate now around 1.5 is pushing it slightly.
What are the best hotels around £100 - 120 a night?
The reviews on trip advisor are leading me to the Mirage. Any other suggestions, or thoughts on the Mirage?
cheers

Does it need to be in a casino, as my Parents went to Vegas in the summer, and hired their own private Villa, with Swimming pool etc just off the strip. It was stunning.

If you can get the poker rate at the Venetian, which you would if you play their deepstack tournies on days when you're not at the Rio, that will come out at around $110 a night (did this summer anyway).

Summer is quiet in vegas and you will get a good deal. Leave it to the last minute and there will be loads of promo codes on fatwallet.com. I recommend you start looking at it about a month before you go and something will grab your fancy, I'd be suprised if you can't pick up a room at the venetian for that sort of price nearer the time, there probably isn't a better hotel in vegas IMO (some as good obv).
Book the flight now (as soon as you can basically) because it will be cheaper and sort the hotel later.

Yes, there are over 120,000 plus hotel rooms available in vegas. I dunno how many poker players go there for the ME but if we say 10,000 to be generous allowing extra for cash game players etc, many sharing rooms though. It doesn't make much of a dent on demand in a generally quiet vegas at that time of year.

I wouldn't necessarily worry about the poker rate, I can tell you what that is now its $169 Mon-Thurs and $259 Fri, Sat 8 hours play required per day. There will be other offers floating around on fatwallet for at least a couple of the top hotels that will be equal to or better than the poker rate possibly with other bits and bobs included (could be free spa days, big chunks off restaurant bills, anything really) and it means you won't be forced to spend all your time playing in one casino. When I went in Nov I got the Venetian for $129 per night with $50 per match bet on roulette per night ($350 total) I stuffed it all on on one spin and paid a chunk of my hotel bill there and then when it won. I also got another great deal at the Golden Nugget for a few days.
The good thing about vegas hotels is if you make you booking direct with them you can cancel it up to 3 days before you get there no questions. So I booked something 2 months out just in case and kept my eye on fatwallet, when a better deal came along I just cancelled the first booking and took the better offer. Just make sure you do it all direct with the hotels and don't book on expedia etc as you won't get the best deal and you have to pay up front with them and can't cancel without penalty.

Flights are looking pretty good just now too. Virgin have just cut their prices and seems to be about £350 return.

Looking to book my holiday in Vegas this year.
Through Expedia, the Flamingo is currently £355 per ROOM (not per person) for 10 nights in August.
I know its an old hotel, but is still looks ridiculously cheap. Am i missing something here??

I stayed at the Flamingo cause I couldn't get into Caesars around Feb last year. Only there for an overnight but compared with a typical European hotel, room wise, notihing wrong with it all.#
Quite liked its old fashionedness
For a reasonable price bit more upmarket, nice pool etc I think Mandalay Bay is quite nice

Flamingo is in a great location, but is very low end!
We stayed at the Mirage for a week in October and it was great - the average price per night was $80. If you get a good deal via
www.smartervegas.com
or
www.fatwallet.com
, book it and then monitor new deals. If something cheaper comes up, ring Mirage reservations and ask them to match the price - they did this for us 3 times in the weeks leading up to our holiday.
All their rooms have been refurbed, the pool is great, location is great (5 mins to Venetian, 10 mins to C Palace) and the cash games at the Mirage are fairly easy (imho!)
