Sounds like you played well man, just the cards didn't go your way. Nothing you can do about exit hand obv. Unlucky man and unlucky backers...

Next significant pot I play I get two limpers from seat 1 (nothing to worry about limping a lot ep) and seat to my right. I make it 800 with AJ. Colder caller form button (fishy fisherson). UTG and limper fold. Heads up and the flop comes 866 two spades. I lead for 1300 into 2k. He flats. 4 hearts on the turn. I decide not to double barrel as I'm unsure whether he has a draw or a pair ( and I know he isn't folding a pair) so check it to him. He bets 1500 which immed tells me he has it. I fold AGAIN and he shows me 88. MBN

Why bet the flop if he isn't folding a pair?

More to do with board texture than anything. I think I have to c-bet this flop almost 90% of the time- obv if I have a big overpair I probs go broke to this player.  I think his cold calling range is pretty huge as well and my c-bet will get thru most of the time. If he checks the turn I'll probably be able to put him on some sort of draw and re-evaluate what to do on the river.

Playing the hand OOP obv poses this problems- it's tough when a fish keeps hitting against you and your OOP against him

Fair enough. FWIW I think he has to check the boat behind you on the turn.

Yeh I agree but he was awful. Always betting when he had something and checking when he didnt so perhaps should have check/folded flop. Bet turn if he checks behind
