Extending this discussion slightly (apologies if it has been covered before), how many BBs would it have to be before considering folding the KK to a 5-bet shove?

Obviously depends on opponent, but I seem to remember the blogger SmartPoker(??) trying to put a figure on this at some point.

Blog was SmartPoker yes, he was SmartMoney on here (anybody know what happened to him? Killed in a duel by LuckyLloyd?). Don't remember the numbers, if there were any, though he played full-ring rather than 6-max, which does make KK much easier to fold pre in some situations against some players.

As for this hand - I can well understand why this is a strange spot... Games at these stakes can be pretty nitty and less aggressive preflop than higher stakes. The table as a whole really can't show any more strength than it does here. UTG raise, flatted, 3bet from SB, 4bet from BB, UTG 5-bet shoves for 160bbs... Obviously some basic stats on UTG would help massively here, as would some idea of the flow of the game, but in general, in this game and without any reads, I think I'd be folding this with 150bbs+ starting stacks. Less than that, if the short stack wasn't also all-in.
