If you get enough heavy betting on the nothing happens then you might be +EV to lamp the p**** again outside a police station.

Smithy,
Having been involved in something quite similar, I found that the best way of dealing with the problem, is too go and see the bloke you assaulted and threaten him, and if this does not work give him another good hiding.
However I am sure that this is the advice that Robert will have given you anyway.
Good luck

Hope it goes well for you mate - in my experience the police dont like to get involved in situations like this - they will have to follow it up but may just give you a warning once you explain the situation. Unless, of course, the damage was severe. I hope you and your girlfriend are ok - I know personally how traumatic being the victim of a stalker can be...

What a fantastic thread!!
Love the humour (Tank and Dewi made me laugh out loud).
I wouldn't worry about it, at worse you get a nominal fine though with the history it won't even come to that.
The "other firm" won't be too interested methinks

Yeah but you don't even want to get arrested for anything really .. not if you wanna go to the US... even an arrest means you have to get a visa now.
and it's a royal pain in the bum.

Have they changed the law again?
i went a few months back and had no problems (had a couple of "tangles" with the other firm), i thought it was only drug related convictions and other such serious stuff?

Well, you have to be careful now ... their visa waiver form is null and void even if you have just been arrested, and because they don't recognise the rehabilitation of offenders act here, all arrests and prosecutions are included, no matter how long ago.
You were probably lucky, but if you went in on the visa waiver with a record they could have deported you right back.
I don't have a record, but I know the procedure you have to go through if you do.
I once worked in an environment where I needed a security check done by the USAF, they told me my record was clean, and they were using US dbases
Scary Stuff..

I visited a friend who's stepfather works as a guard on the US/canada border and before i went i checked it out, also i trawled all the necessary websites both ours and the US's.
I saw NOTHING at all that disqualified me from entering the US as indeed was the case (i went thru security checks 6 times in total).
I was worried about not being allowed in but as i say i found no grounds at all for being refused entry, just scaremongering by peeps who heard about the toughening up of us law methinks.

When you next get a chance, read the green form you fill out very carefully
