Ive got an idea for like the best t.v drama ever but ive got no clue how to go about presenting it to an interested party or writing it, what are the procedures for something like that?

I'm not at all a trained writer so i dont think i could knock up a script but i dont want to pitch the idea to some executive bastard that nicks it because i hadn't written shit down.

I cant disclose what the idea is cos its too great and someone will nick it for sure and get all the millions Ive got coming instead.

so how do i go about writing/presenting this idea Ive got for an 8 part drama series set in the U.S?

I dont mind writing a pilot but i dont want to rack off the whole lot untill a network has commited to having the whole series (and paid me a substantial fee upfront) Grin

I cant tell you what it's about because it's so fantastic but i will tell you that the hero's name is Damien Claymore, is that the greatest name ever or what?

A pilot episode is mandatory. You have to accept that however unique you think your idea is there is every chance that someone else may already have something similar in production. I thought of an idea once, didn't tell anyone and within 6 months it appeared on the tv - it's just one of those things. Look at the name Damien Claymore....

If agents stole ideas they wouldn't be in business very long so don't worry about that, but you can ask for a solicitor to post the envelopes for you to confirm date you submitted your idea in case you are concerned.

Good luck with it - the hard work starts here.

the leads name is still sort of up in the air as is a lot of it, ive got a good idea about what the pilot will contain but there are still a lot of things surrounding the overall plot and what its leading towards that have to be sorted out, also a lot of the specifics of character and individual episode development are still up for change.

It's not really that sort of series, its like a combo between dexter and 24 and maybe lost, that sort of turn out.

I dont think the network abide nokage pre 9pm do they?

If theres anyway round it though i'm open to all suggestions, infact if we get picked up i'll get you as on set norkage consultent?

Change Damien to Jack please. Heroes are called Jack. It's sort of a rule.
