Tis true, only a small % of the blogs in existence today are of the personal diary sort.

Discounting splogs (spam blogs) the most popular type of blog are of the "make money online" sort. Meta-blogs, they contain information about blogging for bloggers. A handful of these bloggers make six figure incomes (their product is telling other bloggers how to make six figure incomes) it's all very pyramidy.
The go on about SEO (search engine optimization) social networking sites, social bookmarking sites, blogging etiquette, software, how to write, design, that sort of stuff. Aswell as obviously, ways to monetize your blog through affiliate schemes, selling advertising space, paid reveues and so on.

Another popular type of blog is the "look what cool shit i found on the internet" sort. A few of these, like boing boing, are pretty big buisness.

You could do that, link to a youtube video every day, saying "check out dis massive choon" and then occasionaly post something about the hollocaust. When you float this blog on the stock exchange in 6 months, you might raise enough to privately fund production of your TV series.

I dont mind doing a blog to promote interest but no way i'm even thinking about producing it myself!

can't we do a version based in greenwich, then when it gets really huge you can sell the idea to the American Bigwigs so they can make their own version.

I'm making my blog private.  If you want to be added to the list of people who can read it, either leave a message on my latest post or drop me a pm on here with your details.
