I remember reading a thread on some American forum where loads of yanks were convinced this was a made up name. They just couldn't conceive that English wasn't actually the first language of some people in the world. Coming from a nation full of Randys, I found that quite amusing .

When you go on the ET ride in Disney it asks you for your name before the ride starts. It remembers where you are sitting and as you leave it says your name. The Americans couldn't understand why we found it so funny when ET said 'goodbye Randy' as we left. Schoolboy humour but fun.
