Need to sort out some freebie protection on a spare laptop, using it whilst sorting out problems on the main one. Is AVG the way to go or can someone suggest a better one?

AVG was tilting my life but someone on here recommended I try AVAST. I have now been using AVAST since June with no problems at all. |

have you checked that whatever you run on main lappy doesn't allow you to run it on several machines? most do

AVG here - I get slated for it regularly.
If I had the inclination I would move to AVAST - just to end the abuse @ work.
