hi all, im was in a £25 FO, 40 runners down to 11 and im 9/11, ave stack is prob bout 45k i have 21k with blinds at 1k/2k...
i was in mid pos with  and was preparing myself to push when FTA raises to 7k and then next to act Flats, they both have big stacks and im thinking i can only repop or fold? so after mmming and arrring i folded thinking i dont want to be involved in a 3 way all in with 8's.....the flop comes  ...FML....turn and  river are brick's (they both ended up shoving all in ), fta had  and the other had  ....so i could have trebled up...now the question i ask...is... is there ever any value in flat calling with my stack at that stage to see if you hit? or shud i have just shoved em all in anyway...?, or was i right every time to fold in that spot?...cheers..

snipes.

Fold is correct I think...

You don't have enough fold equity to shove, and it is an early position raise and call you're facing..

You can definitely not flat here, 1/3 of your stack for a 1/9 shot at hitting a set would be crazy...Plus you lose fold equity for later shoving. Def calling is worst option of the 3 by a village mile...

the ep raise means less than normal here as we're either 5 or 6 handed

I jam something like 66+ AT+ here.

Good point, didn't spot this....

I def shove 99 here, so I guess 88 plays about the same...but a fold is still okay

A lot of other factors should be considered before deciding really but virtually all of them point to a fold to me.  The EP raiser should have two overs and the flat call at this stage does scream strength.

As someone has mentioned above you can never flat call for a 8/1 shot of hitting your set.  There is no other board you want to see.

Other factors to consider: -

Are shoves getting through when first into pot?
Are you getting opportunity to be first in pot regularly?
Is it standard pay out structure?

If answer to any of above if yes then insta fold for me.
