Surely Lucky dips are -ev?  How often is 2 machines gonna pick the same 6 numbers in the same week?

Not getting a lucky dip is probably -EV. Or at least, not picking the numbers with a truly random method.

Picking the numbers yourself by marking them on a cross, players tend to avoid bunching. The result is that when you pick 6 well spaced numbers, you're more likely to have a the same numbers as someone else and so share the jakker.

I have a hypothesis whereby the numbers 1-31 being more frquently chosen than 32-49 because of people picking birthdays of their grandkids n shit.

Don't actually play the lottery, but if I did, I'd probs get a lucky dip or pick two consecutive or 1-gapper high numbers and four randoms.

FWIW I only play when there's a rollover as I figure that to be the only +EV method or the closest to it.

My understanding was that lucky dips only chose combinations of 6 no's which hadn't been taken so far for that draw, so whilst the odds of winning were still 1/14,000,000, the chances of being the only ticket with those numbers were increased.

Worst thing National Lottery did was to introduce the lucky dip.

The number of rollowers has dropped massively and there is almost never a double rollover now.

he concluded that nothing in the world can possibly be truly random

I inferred from this that all action and consequence is predetermined and went about inventing a time machine.

My theory is, and if someone uses this to win the lottery I want half, that the lottery has been going for like 15 years now and has had X amount of combinations fo 6 numbers drawn.  Although statistically the chances of the same 6 numbers being drawn are the same as any 6 numbers being drawn I would speculate that the lottery will never have the same 6 numbers drawn again.

If you take every combination of 6 number possible and eliminate every combination that has been drawn since the dawn of the National Lottery and then also remove other combinations that while statistically as possible as any other combo, is improbable e.g 1-6, 2-7 etc. then you must only be left with X amount of combinations.  Once the amount of combinations remaining<Jackpot its +ev to put them all on and scoop
