I am in the same camp as all of you, its about time for a bash! I will see what can be sorted although they do cost money, and we are skint! Sigh.

why does there have to be an unofficial bash? why cant there just be a bash?
I'd hazard a guess at Cash flow restrictions!! Unless Flushy funds it. BB8 is on Brighton. but if we paying out for an unofficial bash lets just pay out for a bash imo Agreed. ITB to be instated as Bash Convener.

That being said,I would love to be on such a committee to see if we can come up with an alternative, after all they were set up as a cheap way for us all to get together. I don't believe they should cost blonde anything. (could it get sponsered?) Maybe the blonde bash committee should consist of 4 members (long term- maybe 2 year membership) plus one management member? ; and see what they can come up with.

Probably not a lot but if the current organisers have a load on their plate, which it sounds like they do, we might get a chance of another piss up earlier. My hand is up if we are looking for people to help organise an un/official bash....bout time we had another one imo.

To be frank, sometimes the life of a mod is a thankless task, we get grief for no reward. However I really enjoy helping to sort out bits and pieces for the bash. It now is somewhat formulaic and, other than sorting certain things out with the venue (tighty's nightmare), it runs quite smoothly.

committee's arnt supposed to do anything, negates the whole point of setting up a committee if theyre gonna get something done, you can get something done yourself, you set up a committee when you want something to take 3x longer than it should and guarantee that it is in no way resolved by the time the committee is concluded

a committee would obviously have more time. the usual organisors are delaying the bash for 2 reasons time and money. a committee can help them with the former at the very least. i think i recall that the bash has cost £1000 to £1500 in the past. what costs are there? a casino with any sense should provide the comp for registration fee alone (paid by the players) so other than a buffet (which was paid for at bb7 by the players) what else is there that will cost money??

as i said earlier if people wanted a bash i could get one organised with no cost to blonde in aberdeen problem is will people want to travel to aberdeen?
the problem with having an offical bash in aberdeen is numbers and travel apart from the regulars alot of people want the bash on there doorstep
an unoffical bash could have all the trimmings of a full bash but smaller numbers
