as i said earlier if people wanted a bash i could get one organised with no cost to blonde in aberdeen problem is will people want to travel to aberdeen?

the problem with having an offical bash in aberdeen is numbers and travel apart from the regulars alot of people want the bash on there doorstep

an unoffical bash could have all the trimmings of a full bash but smaller numbers

im sure theres is a number of casinos including aberdeen that can be aquired with no cost to blonde iron.

central of the country is usually the best attended foor obvious reasons. i hate bashes on my doorstep personally not quite the same

its a shame people feel the need to go home saturday night. theres so much more to the bash than the comp as you all know.
friday night is my favourite night at most of the bashes ive attended.

I think I mentioned this in a thread on one of the old Blonde bashes, in that I had assumed wrongly that Blonde Bashes were money making and had no idea that Blonde loses money running them. Even a small percentage of the bar bill must be quite big.  But I guess that no such cut is forthcoming.
My obvious suggestion is that everyone attending a bash pays their share or at least something towards the costs. This can be done at the time of putting your name down for the bash, via Blonde transfer and make this non transferable. This might cut the number of no shows or at least Blonde keeps this payment towards the costs of the event.
Or as another suggestion that this cost is deducted from the payout. I don't think many play the main event to make money so can't think that there will be many objections, or am I wrong?

i have given an option for people not wanting to wait for the next bash a highland gathering but as no one has expressed the slightest intrest it looks like we will have to wait till much later in the year

Hi everyone

the situation is as follows

finances are tight, as is no surprise to anyone reading the forum in recent months. I've been reluctant to think about a bash at a time when people who work for blonde (and in two cases have left blonde) are owed money, and had it in my own mind that we'd think about holding one once we were back on an even keel

What are the costs of holding a bash?  Not huge, trophies are nice, some venues have charged us for buffet, one venue charged for use of the facility etc etc. I'd estimate we'd put one on for under £1,000 total (bb7 was comfortably under, bb6 was over £1k) but its tricky to say for sure until the venue is nailed down

We have never considered charging an entry fee or similar, they're community events and I would imagine they'd stay that way

Anyway the situation slightly changed when Flushy said to me yesterday he'd fund a bash if need be. That's great of course, but I would rather it didn't come to that he's not a charity (good impression though!),  I'd rather we could afford it out of company resources

The next problem is a date

Here is the weekend schedule from early March until June 20th

6-13 April Sussex masters, Irish Open, DTD deepstack

Now of course a number of bash attendees previously are APATers or Sky players, or GUKPT regs etc etc and we're updating all dtds going forward for a while

We'd like to avoid a clash if at all possible, especially if we want poker TV stars who may or not be blonde to be there

You see our problem as once we hit 20th June we're into the WSOP......another set of people who wouldn't make it

This scheduling situation gets tougher every year as more tours launch, etc


So in summary we're actively considering, more actively than we were before the Flushy Fairy godmother came along, but its not looking very likely before the summer. Given blonde's difficult but hopefully improving situation this is probably right in my opinion
