how any blondes will be playing the ept grand final?

Seriously, on another point, a committee (the offer of one) is kind thanks but its really not needed. Aside from the usual last minute hassles you get planning any event they are easy enough to put on and the mods team is very experienced at it, especially if you add organising APAT's, Virgin Festivals and Sky Poker Tours onto the CVs of the team

We always holler if we need any help eg quiz, football, labels, trophies etc etc and we'll do so again

As I explained, the financial situation even if we find a date such as the one you suggest, needs careful thought. Which we are giving it

Frankly, given the last few months it (end April) would be too early for us to want to do it given other financial commitments. As I say though, Flushy is now part of this equation

Bear with us.

Agree that it would be unfair to rely on Flushy's generosity where possible and that dates are tight especially not knowing when the finances would see us clear.

Ed has suggested a fee paid by those expressing a wish to attend a BB.

Could we not offer a donation that could be held and if blonde finances pick up could be returned (if not I don't think anyone donating would mind.)

This at least would allow us to determine a date without having to worry about blonde finances being right or bothering Flushy after he has already done so much.

I know we keep banging on about how we want it to be a free community thing, however we are being encouraged to use the cardroom more to generate said finance, so either way I and I also assume most others, wouldn't mind whether we contributed direct to the bash or through playing the cardroom.

As always, appreciate what you guys do for us.

Hi everyone

the situation is as follows

finances are tight, as is no surprise to anyone reading the forum in recent months. I've been reluctant to think about a bash at a time when people who work for blonde (and in two cases have left blonde) are owed money, and had it in my own mind that we'd think about holding one once we were back on an even keel

What are the costs of holding a bash?  Not huge, trophies are nice, some venues have charged us for buffet, one venue charged for use of the facility etc etc. I'd estimate we'd put one on for under £1,000 total (bb7 was comfortably under, bb6 was over £1k) but its tricky to say for sure until the venue is nailed down

We have never considered charging an entry fee or similar, they're community events and I would imagine they'd stay that way

Anyway the situation slightly changed when Flushy said to me yesterday he'd fund a bash if need be. That's great of course, but I would rather it didn't come to that he's not a charity (good impression though!),  I'd rather we could afford it out of company resources

The next problem is a date

Here is the weekend schedule from early March until June 20th

7 March DTD 321, SkyPokerTour
14 March EPT
19-29 March GUKPT leg 3
5 April, APAT, DTD
6-13 April Sussex masters, Irish Open, DTD deepstack
18-26 GUKPT Leg 4
28-3 May EPT Grand final
10 Sky Poker Tour
18-29 GUKPT Leg 5
30-31 May APAT
6 June DTD 321
14 June Sky Poker tour final

Now of course a number of bash attendees previously are APATers or Sky players, or GUKPT regs etc etc and we're updating all dtds going forward for a while

We'd like to avoid a clash if at all possible, especially if we want poker TV stars who may or not be blonde to be there

You see our problem as once we hit 20th June we're into the WSOP......another set of people who wouldn't make it

This scheduling situation gets tougher every year as more tours launch, etc

So in summary we're actively considering, more actively than we were before the Flushy Fairy godmother came along, but its not looking very likely before the summer. Given blonde's difficult but hopefully improving situation this is probably right in my opinion

I no most of the time i talk a loada bollocks but ...

I was hoping the cost of a bash was around the 1k mark since i believe there was around a 100 ppl at BB7,flushy shouldn't have to pay that so...

Make the main saturday comp 50+10(even 30+10 if people dont want to pay 50 but pretty sure numbers would still be as good and stay lighthearted) i'm pretty sure every single person that was at luton could afford that and would also say a £10 reg fee in the context of the great weekend that is guarenteed is worth every penny and much much more, i know blonde don't want to have to charge a reg fee but surely it is much better that we can have 2 a year which is a must imo, than scrap it over a tenner per person.

So lets have a bash in may wherever all of the costs should be covered by the tourney and everyone can have another great weekend

PS Anyone who goes home on the saturday night is just ghey, imo of course
