Why does a BB cost between 1000 - 1500? Apart from the trophies what is the other cost?
I thought the buffets had to be paid separately or am I mistaken. I remember the one at DTD was

Make the main saturday comp 50+10(even 30+10 if people dont want to pay 50 but pretty sure numbers would still be as good and stay lighthearted) i'm pretty sure every single person that was at luton could afford that and would also say a £10 reg fee in the context of the great weekend that is guarenteed is worth every penny and much much more, i know blonde don't want to have to charge a reg fee but surely it is much better that we can have 2 a year which is a must imo, than scrap it over a tenner per person.

^^Sounds like a good idea to me!

Cardiff was £50 +£5 and got 115 runners - obviously that was partly affected by location, but it does suggest that £50 + £10 wouldn't necessarily get a 100 runners.

And if the main event didn't get 100 runners it would mean a significant impact on the atmosphere in general.

So looks like we're aiming for August.

28th to 30th is ideal and the 31st is a bank holiday.  Happy days.

No, it really...really wouldn't.

70 runners would be fine as well. If people don't go because they don't want to pay the extra tenner, they are probably not going to be any fun anyways....anyone going to a blonde bash to play proper poker is at the wrong tourney IMO.

Hell, a lot of people spend a lot of money coming to these things...a tenner really won't make a damn bit of difference.

you've lost me there. how does the fact that a 50+5, which was held in a location that's pretty inconvenient for most, got 115 runners suggest that a tourney with almost exactly the same buy in, which will almost certainly be in a more convenient location for most people, won't get over 100? to me it suggests the exact opposite

Bit of guesswork about the Price Elasticity of Demand of poker, but that would be my guess.

If you try Aberdeen make sure there isn't any major oil shindig on or it'll be tents all round and hotels are expensive at the best of times.

Many oil companies have standing agreements with hotels that they will keep rooms for them every day which are only released for general sale around 3pm on the day if the oil guys don't need them.
