I gonna come a cropper in the suffixes question, cos I answered it in the spirit that it was asked (I think) rather than the nerdy pedantic way.

There may be trouble ahead...
Name a suffix of a professional English football team who play in the Premier League, Championship, League One, or Two.

yeah hence both incorrect, i just remember doing a footy team suffix quiz and Palace being one, it's also the anwser to which English football team has the most letters in its name until you get to a vowel. Also Palace listed as a suffix here FWIW: http://www.onpedia.com/encyclopedia/list-of-british-football-club-suffixes

I thought we were gonna get all technical about what a suffix was.
Is a suffix not usually a part of a larger word rather than a word?
Also the example of a 'non suffix' was confusing.

I think it would be bizarre to call Palace the Suffix.
The team isn't from Crystal is it?

OK - Matt and I still can't agree on this. How about this one - is 'end' (as in preston north end) a suffix?
PS Gatso - Matt says Ham doesn't count coz they are west ham united - if they didn't have a 'united' then ham would count.
