I've never had a cig in my life. Until a boozy night in Brighton 3 weeks ago where I chain smoked about 9 without really remembering. Does this mean I am now a social smoker?

am off to order 1 now how many refills did you get?

how long b4 you will be able to do without It completely?

Without the electonic gizmo?

Still using it !

Only been a couple of months though and only really use it now when drinking.

The refills come in packs of 5. I bought ten pakcs but I iwoot had them on half price at the time. 1 refill = 1 day i reckon.
Google search for refills, should find cheaper than iwoot

I think that the opening question is a no brainer and you answer it yourself.

First failing is the "giving up" phrase you are just becoming a none smoker again, by "giving up" you are depriving yourself of something making it much more of a need.

Personally i feel like i could be a walking advert for the easyway system it just seemed to make it all so simple and never had a craving for a ciggy = 2 years + now.

[ ] reformed smokers are the best.

I agree,  i used to hate them as well.

I struggled for years to give up, the real turning point and kick up the arse for me was losing my dad to cancer and in all honesty i think i would still be a smoker if that hadn't of happened.

So all in all i'm a smug reformed smoker.

One of the fundamentals of giving up smoking is understanding that usually when you got hooked you were still a child, with childish inhibitions. And they come to the for front of your subconscious when you "try" to give up as an adult.

Some of the words I may have used were the wrong explanations but this is due to messing up at school and smoking behind the bike shed when I was suppose to be at my English lesson. ;-)

Reformed smokers >>>> weekend smokers

grrrrr

Never understood weekend / social smokers.

I used to be a social smoker. The only reason for doing it is because it makes you look cool.

Im a strong believer of if you really want to stop its easy.

The patches and gum etc can help but I dont think you need them.

If you really want to stop you wont need them.

I had a friend who went to hypnotherapy to stop, when he went I said dont be stupid and bet him £50 i could stop and he wouldnt.

I suppose it helps that I have that arrogant sort of head. I can do anything.

He had a lifetime guarantee which meant if he ever wanted a cigarette, he could go back to for another session.

3 months later the hypnotherapist told him he was more than welcome to come back every month, but it was a waste of both their time as he didnt really want to stop.

3 years and 2 months later, I dont smoke.

Might seem like a big headed story but i think its an important point. Unless you HONESTLY want to stop it wont matter what you do.

Also I know it sounds bizarre but previously I did make the concious decision to start again. I had stopped for a year, when someone arranged a trip to Prague and I decided when I got there I was going to buy a packet of cigarettes. I planned it for a month before hand. At no point did I smoke before we got there. Weird I know.

Weekend smoking isnt about looking cool. Smoking is enjoyable. I can honestly say I miss it, its a disgusting habit, but I enjoyed it.

Weekend smokers are just walking the tightrope. One day something will happen and they will think oooh shit, thats annoying, i know, I REALLY fancy a cigarette.

Giving up smoking:

After 20 mins your blood pressure and pulse rate return to normal

After 8 hours nicotine and carbon monoxide levels in blood reduce by half and oxygen levels return to normal

After 24 hours carbon monoxide is eliminated from the body. Lungs start to clear out mucus and other smoking debris

After 48 hours there is no nicotine in the body. Ability to taste and smell is greatly improved

After 72 hours your breathing becomes easier, bronchial tubes begin to relax and energy levles increase

3 - 9 months coughs, wheezing and breathing problems improve as lung function is increased by up to 10%

5 years - risk of heart attack falls to about half of that of a smoker

10 years - risk of lung cancer falls to half that of a smoker. Risk of heart attack falls to the same as someone who has never smoked.

If that doesn't work.....

Cost of smoking:

1 day £11.00
1 week £77.00
2 weeks £154
3 weeks £231
1 month £334.58
6 months £2,007.50
1 year £4,015.00
10 years £40,150.00
20 years £80,300.00

I can see where your coming from with this as I am like wise strong willed and a stubborn fecker, but after 4 days nows i still am thinking i could kill for a fag although I know 1 will lead to another and then back full time on the weed,I am struggling with sleep issues at the mo I just cant get off to sleep, last night i didnt get off until 3.30am and was then up at 6 for work that was even with a nytol,,the crtaving is still high but am determined to see it through just must avoid teh 1 moment of weekness which will start me off again..........

Is there a more disgusting habit?    Surely that should be enough for anyone to stop...
