I've never had a cig in my life. Until a boozy night in Brighton 3 weeks ago where I chain smoked about 9 without really remembering. Does this mean I am now a social smoker?
No but it is not big and it is not clever dont do it again!!!

You either need to cut down from 40/day or get some duty free shopping.
According to nhs handout coming up to no smoking day - I picked it up at the chemist yesterday and was going to give it to Tikay but I knew he wouldn't take any notice so I saved it so you could all take the mick out of me. I am your foil....

I can see where your coming from with this as I am like wise strong willed and a stubborn fecker, but after 4 days nows i still am thinking i could kill for a fag although I know 1 will lead to another and then back full time on the weed,I am struggling with sleep issues at the mo I just cant get off to sleep, last night i didnt get off until 3.30am and was then up at 6 for work that was even with a nytol,,the crtaving is still high but am determined to see it through just must avoid teh 1 moment of weekness which will start me off again..........
To be fair though I never had those problems. Obviously the cravings were there but i wasnt irritable and had no problem sleeping. May have been a different story if i did

Is there a more disgusting habit?
Surely that should be enough for anyone to stop...
injecting heroin?
A more disgusting socially accepted habit then...

Not irritable? Don't you mean no more irritable than usual?
No problem sleeping? Could that be anything to do with 10 pints of guinness and a joint every night?

well that's the 1st week over and done with, wasn't that easy tbh but am now only getting occasional pangs for a smoke,I have decided against getting an inhalator or similar as upon reflection i think it would make it easier to replace it with a ciggy obv it does work for some and good luck to those who do use it..i believe Wednesday is national no smoking day might be wrong though will check in a min.
Do any of the smokers on here actually give up on this day I know i didn't couldn't really see the point.
If i get to week 3 without going back to the weed then i will be more than happy as i honestly didn't think i would have lasted this long, just a little note....

If you can do 3 weeks without any nicotine apparently all the receptors for nicotine in your brain become inactive so you shouldn't get any cravings after that.

I quit over 2 years ago, I still occasionaly want a fag when I see people smoking on telly and that. I type this while chewing a biro.
