Hi All

The good news is i am still in on day 2 with 16,000

Bad news is average is 73,000

However i have a good table draw , 6 of the 9 players have less than 52,000 so one double up and i may have a chance.

Got big hands early on without getting paid then from level 3 built up to a peak of 74,000 , last 3 levels were a nightmare especially when Freddy Deeb arrived on my right with 110,000 raising every other pot. AA got cracked , top two got out drawn and KKds ran into a short stack with rag AA , both of us flopped a set.

I have been here many times before and will still give 100%

Table consisted of Tom Mcevoy , 1983 WSOP champ , Nik Persaud and a late arrival Chris Ferguson , we played 6 handed for an hour and in the first 12 hands i had AA 4 times and KK twice and joked it was too early. After 2 levels i still had 30,000 then in level 3 i called a raise from Chris on the button with Q987ds , flop was Q 4 6 and he led out for 2000 which i raised to 4800 , i had 2700 left as i hadn't used my two 10,000 rebuy chips , he thought for a while and i knew he had AA or KK and decide to reraise , i called and sucked out finishing the level with 36,100.

In level 4 i won a nice pot off Nik by check calling the flop , firing on the turn 3100 into 4000 and when he called firing again on the river 5100 with one pair , he asked for a count but folded , i ended that level with 46,950 just playing poker.

Level 5 i raised to 1225 two off the button with 4578ds , John o'shea on the button flatted and the SB reraised to 5375 , i like my hand v AA and called expecting John to fold as if he had a strong hand i would have thought he would have been the reraiser in position , he called . Flop was A 6 9 rainbow , SB was all in for 1000 , we both called , turn was a 5 , i bet the pot and John folded the SB was drawing dead and i ended this level with 74,725 about 30,000 over average.

Level 6 i raised Tom after he had limped under the gun with AA9Tss , he called 2200 , flop was  K J 4 two hearts , we both checked , i dont like the texture of this flop against a UTG limper , turn and river were 8 8 , Tom showed down Q Q 8 2 to win and this pot seemed to be the catalyst for everything going wrong , ie the flopped top 2 where i called a 6000 bet only for the flush to come , another top two on a Q T 5 flop with a heart flush draw that i folded after Chris bet 2000 and Nik called , turn was a Q and Chris bet 5000 showing KJ of hearts when Nik folded. Then when i finally got KK95ds and raised on the button to 2250 the SB reraised all in for 7800 with AAxx , i called and first card was a K followed by an A lol.

By level 7 i was down to 26,600 and waiting for a hand that never came , with 15 minutes to go all the short stacks were pushing but i decided to wait as you can't win on day 1 and maybe today i will run hot , it's easy to do in PLO and i was in exactly the same situation at one point in Amsterdam the year i came 2nd of 243 so don't give up !

Cheers

Nice Report Simon, some memory recall, too.

Thanks. Enjoy Day Two, no matter how long it lasts.

PS - Check your PM's when you get chance, no rush.

Hi All

I got through the 600 1200 level still with 16,100 then our table was broke and i got moved to Ben Grundys where 5 players had over 100,000 and i was inbetween 240,000 and 130,000 !

I won two pots ending level 10 with 21,500 .

Level 11 was 1000 2000 and after blinding away to 15,500 i called with KK97ss after Ben and one other limper , it was pointless raising as i would get at least 2 callers , in one hand Ben had reraised to 14,000 pre and been called by Q964 in the SB that check raised his 11000 bet on a J 5 2 board and hit runnner runner for a higher two pair so you get an idea how crazy this table was.

The pot was raised to 11,000 and Ben and the chip leader called , pot was 38,000 so i called 9000 more , flop was Q T T and Ben bet 19000 , chip leader folded and i called for my last 2500 , the preflop raiser showed AKQJ and folded .

Ben had T 6 5 3 , turn was a J  to give me a straight but river a 5.

Average chips was approx 115,000 so this pot gave me a shot at 52,000 .

I think i was 109th of 116 coming back and ended up 71st or 72nd.

Thanks to all my shareholders.

Cheers

Thanks for reports Simon. It was good having some interest in Vegas for the WSOP.

Better luck next year and enjoy the rest of your stay.

Good effort Simon, that's the way the cards run sometimes.

I am a very rare staker of players, because I like maximum value for my investment, including, at the very least, some form of Touney Report.

You prepare properly, take it seriously, have the game, & give us all a Tournament Report - & even a "thanks to all my Shareholders".

If you ever want Staking in future, stick my name down first, please.

Why don't you stay over in Vegas & play the Main Event? I'd take a few % if you did, & I'm sure the blondes would soon soak up most of what you offered.
