Tomatoes, eggs and beans should be whale answers imo.
The whale rule may well come into play here.
My inital thought was that fry-ups are sacrosanct and deserve to avoid generalisations, but the Hash Brown question has
softened my stance
.
= I will deal with objections how I see fit, it depends on which way the wind blows at the time, let's not quibble whether I am right or not.

OBJECTION!
HP Sauce is part of a Full English, just randomly look in the rate my breakfast thread.
FARCE
Condiments are not food items.
You never think 'oh, I'll just eat some HP sauce' - you can't have it on its own.
You can eat it, it is a food stuff.
Not one item makes a Full English, it's a selection of foods.
HP Sauce is a British institution which is used by millions of people everyday.
Not only is this a
FARCE
but also a
TRAVESTY

Would the bread-based* answers, be they toasted or fried not be whale answers as well?**
** unless Sherrif has a chance of an ace with brown toast
* Obviously English Muffins not included in this category.

They could possibly be.
Brown Toast would never be an Ace. I was debating whether to fail it - I mean,

toast?

Cruel and unfair prolonging of the agony. Come on I'm supposed to be asleep.

You couldn't keep up with the marking for 10 minutes, what chance have you of surviving as QM?

Rulings.
Tomatoes and Toast are whales - the differences between White/Brown toast and different types of tomatoes is small enough for them to be whales.
Eggs cannot be a whale - they are so critical to the fry-up, and the difference between fried and scrambled eggs so great that thay must be distinct answers and so, therefore, eggs byitself is insufficient.
Beans, in the context of a question about fry-ups, can only be taken to mean baked beans.
Therefore I think all answers stand.
