Cheers Sad

I have UAC turned off for HEM, was that just to get it running initially Byron?  I assumed that it needed to be off all the time.  I'll turn it back on and see how I get on.

I've a copy of Avast running now (don't ask) and am scanning just in case.  Then I'll look into removing AVG.

Cheers, I'm sure I'll get there.

Not doing anything before the big 10am announcement though Wink

Sorry OP, lol, I can't even remember who it was or what it was about now Cheesy

System restore did nothing?

Not tried, scared to and not sure when to restore too.  It's been going on a while, I've just ignored it as I don't often download things.

Does it restore any of my documents or anything like that?  I don't want to lose things.

When do I restore back too?

If it's working, don't restore.

No, you don't lose data - it just goes back to a point and puts the system back as it was (so the programs you've installed since won't be installed, etc.)

No it not delete any photos, word documents etc etc you have done, just sorts out programs etc like Kin says...

I had lots of trouble with IE 7 at one time, simple restore worked a treat, i'd do it to about 7-10 days ago...

Just LoL
I would like to argue the point, but I cant !!

SO you all like Chrome then, thats good.
(Btw I have deicded against converting to Chrome, you cant install toolbars and I would miss my Pirate Bay and Stumbleupon toolbars.)

I did quite like it though and the fact that all tabs run independently is a big plus. Will have another look at the weekend. (after the Reverse sheep game obv)

Update

Did a system restore back to the 20th, it was the furthest back I could go, and so far it seems ok.  Unless it was a Windows issue, the only thing I can think of that may have been was that I installed Thunderbird to check work emails recently.  The timing does seem to fit in, but I can't find any threads related to Thunderbird and my problem on t'internet.  If it's not that, I guess I'll be experiencing the issue again soon but at least this time I'll be aware of things I run.

Glad it's sorted though.
